I think RR have status because they start at $80,000 +

Although Sport models start at $65k. Even so, any 16 yr old driving one has to have $$.

Kendall got a Sport for her 16th. They reported it cost $100k but they are not that much.

Can't relate my mother handed me a bus pass.:D

I can't drive a nice car. I have a bad habit of leaving it unlocked. I'm quite sure my car hasnt been locked since last Thursday. So I drive an old rust bucket. And I can't stomach the 30% depreciation that happens when you drive your new car off the lot. I rather have a bag that will last forever than a fancy car. A car is good for 5-10 years, isn't that the average jail term.

She received a $125,000 SUV for her 16th birthday earlier this month, so it’s no surprise Kylie Jenner likes to be in the driving seat.

The reality TV starlet was happy to play chauffeur to her friend as they enjoyed a day out in Westwood, Los Angeles on Sunday.

The five-foot-nine brunette rolled up in her black Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV to pick up her pal for a fun day out, making full use of the driving licence she received following her birthday.

Kylie can't be 5'9". She's probably 5'4"

G wagons were "cool" well over 10 years in LA. They pretty much dropped off the map, for the most part. Never liked these cars. Boxy and plain to look at. Looks very old fashioned.

Range Rover, on the other hand, has kept it's status symbol status out here and people lust after them still. I don't know one person who wants a G wagon Mercedes, but dozens who would love to have a RR.

As for her height, she doesn't look tall to me at all, maybe 5'5 tops. She has pretty short/average length legs.

Just as an aside, they stopped manufacturing the G wagon for a number of years. Daimler (Mercedes) publishes that they have been in continuous production since introduced but when I went to go buy one a few years ago, none were available--it wasn't even an option. They're roughly double the cost of a Range Rover Sport and 1.5 times the cost of a Range Rover, so they're technically two different market segments although both vehicles have a safari style

Oh, really? I had no idea. Good explanation for them dropping off the map for awhile.

I never researched this car, so I had no idea they were that much more than RRs!!

I didn't know they were that much. Were the older models more expensive than the older RRs? I looked at the Supercharge Range which was about $120k so I thought they were the same price. I ended up with a coupe. lol.

I know, you wouldn't expect them to be that much more! I don't recall what their prices used to be but I think Mercedes has kept pretty steady pricing so I'd assume it was similar, accounting for inflation and a lower consumer price index of course
