Well there's a difference between sexy and skanky. Kendall and Kylie dress a little sexy sometimes but most girls their age do. There comes a point where you look skanky, which is what i would call inappropriate. I don't get the big deal with the way these girls dress, really. They never look skanky to me. They usually look really cute. I don't think there's anything wrong with showing a little skin and getting into fashion when you're a teenager.

Wasn't Kylie dressing like this at thirteen? I don't think any thirteen year old is sexy or should be striving to look sexy. They don't have to dress with bows in their hair but they sometimes dress too old. JMO

I often wonder where the people who are appalled by teens dressing that way are in real life, because every single teen I knew/know in real life dressed/dresses that way from the age of about 12, and their parents are the ones who buy the clothes for them so. And it's not like I live in New York or LA, I live in a pretty average neighborhood.

Yeah i'd like to know too. Maybe the age demographic as well? Anyone who's been in high school in the last few years would likely not think twice about their outfits. It just seems so normal to me. All the teen stores sell exactly the type of things that Kendall and Kylie wear so where else are teens supposed to buy their clothes from? The Childrens Place? Gap Kids? LOL

ITA - I have been out of high school for many many years now, but I wore much more revealing stuff when I was that age, it was the norm. :shrugs:

ETA: in fact it's probably more acceptable to wear tight/"sexy" clothing in your early to mid teens than late teens/early twenties. By the time you reach your early twenties people are less accepting of that stuff, and it just looks dated and immature and smacks of "tween".

LOL, even kids stores sell pretty much the same stuff, it just doesn't look sexy on young kids because young kids aren't sexy. I went into Justice the other day to get my little cousin a birthday present, and everything in there was pretty much a replica of stuff I saw at Victoria's Secret and Forever 21.
It's probably an age thing, maybe people in between college-aged and having high school kids themselves, so they aren't used to seeing what teenagers are wearing.

You bring up a good point. The more developed you are, the more things are going to look sexy on you whether you like it or not. These girls are tall too so everything is going to look more short and revealing than if someone 5' tall was wearing it. I am 5'9 and i can tell you that ALL of the dresses sold as young stores(f21, H&M, etc) are all REALLY short. Add in big boobs and butt and people are going to have something to say. If Kylie was 5 feet tall and flat chested, she could wear the same things and i bet nobody would say anything.

Yeah, that's probably true. I've never been able to get away with the same shirts and dresses my flat-chested friends have because of my chest.

I´m 20 and when I was that age my parents wouldn´t let me wear that in a million years, nor would I want to. Even living in LA I see girls dress cute and age appropriate (I put myself in this catagory) without their breasts hanging out. You can definitely find clothes that look age appropriate for teenagers all over town, it´s just about taste. I don´t think teenagers should wear sky high heels either. Kendall looks super cute in those latest pics, her sister should take notes ;)

OMG, ain't this the truth! I remember casual days in HS those chicks would get away with murder. Coochie cutters and v-neck tees, but let me walk in wearing shorts (a little longer than theirs, my a$$ wasn't out) and the same v-neck t-shirt and I'm being sent home.

Meh, Kendall and Kylie dress no differently than other teenagers dress. It's been 5 yrs since I graduated and chicks were dressing the same way when I was in HS. Maybe I'm desensitized to it or something :shrugs:

I agree, it definitely was not the "norm" for teenagers to dress like that when I was in school (and I wouldn't consider myself old, not by a long shot). I also had extremely strict parents, and my school had a real dress code (you would get sent home for wearing too short skirts or strappy tanks, etc.) so the opportunity to dress in tight, revealing clothes was limited. But my friends with not so strict parents didn't wear anything all that risque outside of school either. It's normal for teenagers to want to look "grown-up" but in my opinion it's the parents' job to monitor that. Kylie is rarely dressed appropriately for a 15 year old.

I'm with you guys - they look tasteful to me. I grew up when Britney was a rising star and she, Christina, all the stars got a sh** ton of criticism for how they dressed. There's always going to be folks who don't approve of skin showing on teens and people who don't care as much. My parents didn't like heels on me at that age... I just threw em in my backpack and wore them anyways lol.

they rarely look tasteful and often look like tarts
i am in my 20s and live in a metropolitan city and have two youngest sisters and young nieces
womp
those are all the receipts you're getting
womp and i was a girl who developed early but trust i didn't dress like that

and if this is what you consider average and ok...maybe that says something about society and how young girls..they're not even women...are expected to look and exude sexiness and mimicand perform sexuality without even knowing what the heck it is.

I agree it has to do with body type. If they were shorter and not so developed no one would bat an eye.

that's not a bad thing. you dress for you body type regardless. if you're thin, if you're busty, if you'e flat, if you're fat, if you gotta big ole a*s...everything aint for everyone...just cause it's made in your size, doesn't mean you should wear it. there are a gazillion books on dressing for your body type.
