Chagall, thanks for bringing back my old thread! I guess I should update it, I actually sold my ladies at the end of July and bought the Midsize (same exact watch except in midsize) the first week in Aug. and I LOVE it! My midsize TT MOP Diamond Dial is in my avatar

Your watch is so gorgeous! I think the 31mm is the perfect size for an everyday watch, and can easily transition from day to night wear.

I have never seen a man wear a 31mm, my Rolex SA has always told me that the 31mm is sold more to ladies. I feel that if you can only have one maybe just keep what you have but take everything into consideration when making your final decision. Also, 26mm watches seem as though one gets older they might be hard to read time from, my mom got rid of her 26mm for that very reason, and by no means is a bigger watch a trend IMO, ladies like Liz Taylor wore huge watches way back in the day! It may seem like a "trend" now days since big luxury brands are gearing the bigger watches towards ladies but they actually have been worn by ladies for decades. Good luck!

Oh I think the wearing of Daytonas, Sub Mariners and GMT Master II by woman is indeed a 'trend'!

Just like the enormous eye glasses that were in style in the beginning of the 90's that went out of style overnight and were replaced by small frames, this 'trend' will also pass!

Congrats on your beautiful new watch chanel-girl.

I love the MOP dail, what a lovely choice, and you knew you loved it because you had the same watch in a smaller size before!

Wear it in good health!:smile1:

I don't think I agree with your point for watches OR sunglasses! Just a matter of opinion I guess.

Well I guess everyone has different opinions which is perfectly fine, but I've never met a lady now or in the 90's that would turn down a Daytona, Sub Mariner, or GMT Master if they could actually afford it. Small watches are old lady looking in my opinion and the watches you mention require a presence that some people male or female just can't pull off so maybe that is why some view it as a "trend" ;)

I am sure all the owners of the 26 mm Rolex will appreciate you referring to their watches as 'old lady'!

Judging by some of the pictures of the slim attractive women on this thread, they could 'pull off' any watch they wanted!

To make the blanket statement that women would not get the watches you mentioned only because they couldnt afford them is not taking into account peoples differing tastes!:D

^^^ I don't think Sprinkles&bling was referring specifically to the 26mm Lady Rolex....I think she was just expressing her opinion about small watches in general....I do agree that a larger watch is more modern then a tiny delicate watch but the 26mm is not really a small watch relatively speaking, esp. the newer more chunky 26mm. It is a personal preference and everyone is entitled to their opinion. I personally don't think that larger watches for woman are just a trend because Rolex hadn't changed the styling of the original Lady Datejust until 2005 (TT) and 2007 (SS) to make the Lady Datejust have a larger presence by giving it a much chunkier design. The 31mm Midsize is squarely under the women's category on the Rolex website and they have a line of 36mm catering exclusively to woman.

Just like some people including myself will appreciate you referring to bigger watches as a "trend" and your comment of those particular watches being just a "trend" for the ladies now was not taking peoples differing taste into account either!

By the way what in the world does someones size have to do with what I wrote of needing a certain presence to pull off a bigger watch??? I never mentioned someones physical size AT ALL so your comment was unnecessary xxx!

Tell you what, if you stop saying that people dont have the watches you mentioned because they 'couldn't afford it' or couldn't 'pull it off' then I'll stop being childish also.:graucho:

There are many sizes of Rolex.

26, 29, 31, 34, 36, 39, 40 and 44!

One for everyone!

Aren't we lucky to have such a wide range of choices!:smile1:
