Keep Rolex Lady Datejust or Trade In For Midsize???

I have the ladies size and I understand where you are coming from. When I spend a lot of time on TPF I start thinking i wish I had got the mid size. When I'm not looking on here all the time I am very happy with my ladies size.

Sometimes this forum can make you want more things and always makes me feel my jewellery collection is tiny and that my stones are tiny, whereas in the 'real' world I have much more than most lol! ;)

This exactly!

after market part is devalue your Rolex.
Believe me, most of Rolex ADs can tell when you walk in the store that yours is faked because of that bezel.

They told me once the manufactured date by just looking at its bezel which was wore on my wrist at that time.

Ceya, I absolutely wouldn't put any aftermarket parts on my watch - That wasn't a consideration. Did you mean to respond to Bri's thread instead?

Is midsize considered "men's? I definitely don't want the 36mm which would be way to big on me. The 31mm is perfect imho

36mm is the traditional men's size in DateJust, although being sold to women now. The 31mm is squarely in the women's category on the Rolex site and in practice although it started out differently, being marketed as a "boy's" size watch. So: Ladies is 31mm and smaller in Rolex.

Get the midsize. I think it is the perfect size, not too trendy at all. I find the Ladies size is a bit petite (regardless of the size of the wrist)

I agree! Thank you everyone for the help! I am definitely getting the Midsize and going to sell my ladies size. I really think that because my watch is "such a classic" style and although that is definitely my style, I prefer it in the Midsize because it seems very slightly more modern.

Sorry - not really, they just all look like men's watches on me so I got used to calling them that...except the 26mm. And when I got that one, I thought it looked big on me until I got used to it. LOL! SO has a platinum day date president that he was going to give to me, but I haven't removed the links yet - the thing must weigh 3 pounds! It would swallow me.

I have a couple of "fashion watches" that are right around 31mm to 34mm that I was able to get used to somewhat, but they do look really big on me.

I enjoy seeing great watches on other people, including the big ones. I just can't pull it off.

Before you decide, get that size in a "fashion watch" and wear it around a while. That will tell you if you think you'd like the larger size.

you don't want that platinum day date. My DH has one and that thingy is too heavy to wear comparing with my ladies platinum 26mm.

That's what I told him - the main reason he was giving it to me is that it's too heavy for him to wear very often. Well DUH, you outweigh me by over 100 lbs, how do you think I can lug it around? But it's so gorgeous though.

Now if he'd buy me the ladies (26mm) diamond platinum one for my birthday this month... :D But I ain't holdin' my breath.

Thanks Ceya, yes enough people warned me so not going to do it now. Found a different AD that has the watches I want with the factory Rolex diamonds on the bezel. So not even a consideration any more.

I think you will love the midsize! It really is the perfect in between. The ladies size is really small. So unless you like that style, I would go midsize. It isn't super huge and shows really well on the wrist. That's what I am getting too :p If you go on Rolex.com, they show a bunch of 31mm style ladies watches. Mine are on there too.

Irishlass, that is funny because when I first got my ladies size I thought it looked big too until I got used to the size (the watch I had before was only 24mm so that probably is why...)

I say go for the 31mm Midsize!

I traded my 26mm at Christmas for the 178341 TT rose gold chocolate dial datejust, with the staggered diamond bezel.

I am very happy with the size.

There is a real trend to women wearing the mens 36mm and even the sports watches like the Daytona which are huge!

I think the 31mm is a greaty choice, it is a good size in keeping with todays fashion, but not 'over the top big and trendy', and will become a true classic like the 26mm!

Good luck in your choice!:smile1:

I have never seen a man wear a 31mm, my Rolex SA has always told me that the 31mm is sold more to ladies. I feel that if you can only have one maybe just keep what you have but take everything into consideration when making your final decision. Also, 26mm watches seem as though one gets older they might be hard to read time from, my mom got rid of her 26mm for that very reason, and by no means is a bigger watch a trend IMO, ladies like Liz Taylor wore huge watches way back in the day! It may seem like a "trend" now days since big luxury brands are gearing the bigger watches towards ladies but they actually have been worn by ladies for decades. Good luck!
