Heard back from fashionphile. I have to say, I'm disappointed in how they responded. I was basically told that if I wanted them to consider that the bag was misrepresented, I could return it, they'd assess it in house, and then put it back up for sale where I could potentially rebuy it if I was happy with how they priced it. (In the event that didn't price it for MORE of course.)

No thanks :annoyed:

I do really like the bag and, as you all suggested, plan to just keep it and get it repaired. But it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth in regards to fashionphile.
I have stopped doing business with Fashionphile due to their constant mistakes and the way they handled similar situations. Once they sent me somebody else’s bag when I didn’t even order one. They have sent me fake bags, bags described as one size but when it arrived, was actually a completely different size, and bags with serious undisclosed damage. Once they wanted me to send back a bag I had paid for and intended to keep so they could re-examine it in order to send me the corrected label for the box. After all their screw ups, I said no.

That's such a shame! They're such a big, popular company with such a great reputation. It's really troubling to have my own issues and to hear yours.

I definitely don't want to send the bag back to them. I get the feeling if they relisted it, it would just be for an increase! It was a decent enough price for being a rare bag and I like it enough that I'll keep it, flaws and all. Definitely disappointed in them though.

I think you should definitely keep the bag. It should be very simple to repair a popped stitch. And it’s probably not something that has to be done right away. I have a Chanel Reissue that came with a couple of popped stitches and they have not gotten any worse with wear. Fashionphile does have a very good return policy, so perhaps I would buy from them again in the future if a very good deal came along. But once they started charging sales tax, the prices were not as appealing. When I bought my $17,000 Birkin, I saved $1,500 in taxes. Now there is no point. I would just buy from another reputable dealer that doesn’t charge tax. I bought all my Chanel bags a few years ago when they were only around $2,000-$3,000 each and tax free. Now they are listing at $5,000 or $6,000. And I certainly would not sell them back to Fashionphile for only 70% of what I paid.

Wow, not surprised by Fashionphile's response at all, their customer service has gone down quite a bit since partnering with Neimans

FP misrepresented two handbags I purchased, and subsequently returned. Yes, I’m glad you caught the stitches and they are easy fixes. FP is getting a little too big for its britches, imo. Their prices and indifference to their post sale clients, leaves a lot to be desired. I stopped shopping FP when they started charging sales tax, yet their ‘very good’ bags were priced comparably to brand new, at our Chanel store. Saving in taxes made me feel like I was getting a bargain, but not anymore.
Your bag is beautiful! I say keep it, use it, love it and be happy!:flowers:
