Keep my new goodies....or exchange everything for an upgraded e-ring???

I picked out my e-ring set and would give anything to switch the style, but hubby has grown attached to it and wont let me. I understand the desire to have a different ring. I wouldn't hesitate to trade the 5 stone ring and earrings in for an upgrade. I mean you can't even see the earrings on you ;-). I would not however get rid of the pendant that was in your Mom's ring. Not for anything in the world. Whether or not she was attached to it or wore it much. That is a family heirloom (is it an ?)! Just my opinion though.

Thats what I'm most going back and forth with. The earrings, five stone ring and my current e-ring I doubt will give me enough to get what I really want. I'm not certain though. I have annoyed DF enough that he is taking me friday to look at settings and stones....My mothers diamond is not a modern RB cut. It looks to me like a rose cut, but I am not 100% sure and didn't get that much in depth with my jewler. At the time I was interested in the appraisal value, carat weight, color, clarity...

Whatever you pick does not need to be permanent or perfect. You can always trade things around, upgrade, sell, whatever. You just have to ask yourself what you want, deep inside.

Have you tried on a 3 or 4 ct ring? Are you comfortable wearing it where you live and shop? Will you feel safe wearing it? Will it cost much more to insure?

I think everything you selected is fantastic. Personally, I love stacking rings, so that 5 diamond one is great for stacking things around it--plus it gives you versatility from just wearing one stone.

Its hard, but remember to please YOU. This isn't your DF's money. Its not his hand that is looking at what you bought, its yours. So many times I've bought something that DH hated and then a few weeks later complimented me on, guys are very unreliable in that way.

Plus, if he wasn't so into it when you were picking rings the first time, why is he all of a sudden so interested now? (I'm suspicious!! LOL)

You could keep the 5 stone and the earrings and use the pendant money to upgrade a bit or buy a diamond eternity to bling up the other side of the engagement ring!

Either way, its a lovely dilemma. I hope you find exactly what you want!

:DUpdate:

Although I am going to look at the jewlers tomorrow....I think I'm going to keep my jewlery for now. I have re-fallen in love with my rings (I'm so fickle!). Here are some better pics of the 5 stone...which I am wearing with the engagement ring for more BLING until I get my wedding band.....and obviously, my e-ring.....

lol! Thanks for the input. First off, I am not insured...so I have to insure everything anyway and I am not sure the difference to begin with. I just got all the paperwork on everything so I plan to take care of that asap....

DF is the WORST with anything having to do with helping me pick anything. He hates shopping, unless its for him...and even then has a very short attention span. He is not so interested now, but he does love diamonds and so that makes him marginally interested.

The total of my 2 rings now is 4ct. and my promise ring was roughly 5ct so I am used to larger jewlery. I think that is why I am having such trouble with the decision since although the ring is gorgeous...it is much smaller then my promise ring and I was so used to wearing a huge ring on that finger. (The promise ring was a heart made of small RBs and baguettes...but it was knuckle to knuckle and I wore it for 6 years....)I live in NYC...so depending on the neighborhood I am in, my ring can look huge or tiny. I am also not a small girl so a 3-4ct diamond on me, doesnt look overwhelming or rediculous. That being said, I am never nervous about wearing my jewlery no matter where I am...maybe that the New Yorker in me...lol!:yahoo:

So, all that being said...I may just keep what I have....but I'm going to take a look with him tomorrow. SOOOO, I'll have the final update most likley tomorrow.
