I find that story hard to believe. Nearly all artists have flops from time to time. She’s worth about $350 million. If she never makes another penny she’ll still be just fine.

Which makes it interesting that she tried so hard to come out with a hit album. Like, why bother when you clearly don’t have to?

Don’t most performers always want one more hit? It has to be hard on their egos when it becomes clear they’ve gone beyond their “sell by” date.

I think some do and some accept the reality that their time has come and gone.

I’d rather be remembered and celebrated for my peak than to slither off on a low note. But I guess some egos just don’t see it so clearly.

Some do but not all. Some "reinvent" themselves and make money elsewhere. Look at Gwyneth Paltrow. She is not acting anymore and now has a successful "health" site for people who need her expertise. Lol

The smart ones with entrepreneur spirits go and create something. The others just try one more hit. It's hard because creativity don't just come when you intend it to. Actually, the more you force it, the harder it is.
