I don’t think that she is successful with the line at all. I noticed them at the Nordies outlet and had to google the brand.
Jessica Simpson offers a way better affordable line.
Of course, Jessica also promotes the brand. I once watched an entire hour of Jessica and her mother on HSN, it was wildly entertaining.

I suppose the other big precedent for Katy Perry and Rihanna is Madonna.

Madonna is not one of music’s great vocalists but by gum has she sold her image and her sex appeal.

Madonna has been putting out hit albums with lots of questionable satire and bikinis at an older age than KP is now.
Whenever the media made fun of her for being too old and too politically inept she doubles down on it because she’s Madonna. She’s right- she hasn’t changed. All that’s changed is she’s gotten older and her brand of hyper sexualisation and cack-handed commentary has become the norm for pop girls.

I’m not sure KP or any of her successors will be able to secure Madonna’s living legend of camp status due to it being so much more the norm now.

Madonna doesn't have any range - maybe 1 octave so she sticks to that and I'm grateful.

Katy Perry belts and it's hard on the ears, but it seems to be an American Idol thing. One must belt.

I had no idea Katy Perry has a shoe line. Has she ever advertised or promoted it in some way?

Jessica Simpson has done a great job with hers. She must have a great team of marketers/advisors and she seems enthusiastic about promoting her brand. I’ve seen her shoes and they’re nice, people seem to buy them.

Katy seems to take the lazy way to many of the things she does.

A lot of problems for her in this era of her career. To the point that it’s either her very poor choices/judgement or she really has her head shoved so far up her butt to the point that she’s clueless. Either way, not a good look.

Another crap song, though not as bad as the last one.

Flop era. She should just walk away at this point and find something else to do.

Either this is what the team advised her to do, or she surrounds herself with “yes people”, or she ignored the advice she was fiven and went this route.

At her age and the amount of time she’s had in the industry, her judgement would have been better than this.

Speaking of team - she's going to receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards in September.

See, her people are trying to reverse the narrative.

I like her though. I just wish she had a better voice so I could listen to her sing without cringing.

Her videos back in the day were cute. But obviously this is a bought award because there are way more creative and way better videos put out by other artists.

They autotuned the heck out of her voice on her newest song. It does make me cringe because she doesn’t really need it.

Now that you mention her trying country, I think she would do well. There’s a lot of money to be made in the nouveau country/country pop genre.
