When the best part of your show is the special guests and visuals. You stink. I'm sorry. I can't with this mediocrity. She is on that level Gaga was a few years ago. Can do no wrong in the media until they turn on you. But Gaga is significantly more talented.

I don't think the show was intended to be some groundbreaking musical occurrence. We're not talking about Paul McCartney or Bruce Springsteen. Katy Perry is a FUN entertainer. She put on a visually fun and entertaining show. I thought it was great for what it was intended.

Since when has that been the case? It's a halftime show. It's meant to entertain. I was entertained. I thought it was a lot of off the wall fun.

I feel her performing was a very purposeful choice. The NFL has been trying to be more involved with domestic and female issues lately, which is good. I felt even the commercials had a more pro-female rights/awareness feel to them. Katy often speaks out on these sort of issues and is very "girl power". I think they went with her to appeal to a younger female audience.

Evidently they made a good choice cause her halftime show is the most watched in history.

I know! I was shocked to learn her halftime show was the most watched ever. Wow. I like Katy's songs but she doesn't do it for me as a performer. I personally loved when Missy came out and Katy's last song was good esp being suspended in air while singing.

Otherwise I was a bit bored with her performance but then again I'm old so maybe that's why. Lol

For the last few years the ratings improved. That was no shock. I attribute it to the game. Not the performer. But she will ride this til the wheels fall off. I found it interesting that Missy's music increased on iTunes but not hers.

I agree! I have never pegged myself a KP fan, but I do not listen to much Top 40 anyway, so I was indifferent. Seeing her perform I am really at a loss for what people like about her! She is enthusiastic, but has little prescence. She can't sing or move naturally, so what are we paying for here?!

She has a great attitude and seems like a kind woman, but the performance was weak as heck.

LOVED Missy obv, that goes without saying.

Missy was the best part for me. Her music never fails to get me dancing. Love her.
As for Katy, I don't like her music, all I liked was the lighting effects of the performance. The lip-synching was terrible and painfully obvious and she can't dance. It certainly wasn't the best SB half time show...

+1. I really, truly don't get the fascination with her.

Missy OTOH... love!

My poor dad was like, "Who is this Katy Perry person? She sucked."
