I've seen her look prettier than she does on that cover sooooo many times. Very odd choice of photo imo.
She's gorgeous regardless, but I agree they probably could have picked a better photo. Hopefully the pictures inside are better.

Katy Perry Opens Up About Divorce, Reveals It Came Via Text Message

Anyone who's seen the post-it note episode of Sex & the City knows the worst kind of breakup is the kind that comes without any spoken words. Well, apparently Russell Brand wasn't a fan of the show because he brought one-upped the post-it note breakup with his own more modern version.
In a revealing interview with Vogue, Katy Perry discusses her split with Brand and how it all went down. "Let’s just say I haven’t heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011,” she says, surprisingly blasé about the whole thing.
As to what contributed the split, Perry touches on that as well: “At first when I met him he wanted an equal, and I think a lot of times strong men do want an equal, but then they get that equal and they’re like, I can’t handle the equal-ness,” she reflects. “He didn’t like the atmosphere of me being the boss on tour. So that was really hurtful, and it was very controlling, which was upsetting.”
It also didn't help that she became the subject of Brand's act, adding, "He started making jokes about me and he didn’t know I was in the audience, because I had come to surprise him at one of his shows.”
But Perry doesn't place all the blame on Brand: "I do admit that I was on the road a lot. Although I invited him time and time again, and I tried to come home as much as I possibly could."
And Perry's honesty doesn't stop with Brand once the conversation shifts toward her on-again-off-again relationship with John Mayer (currently in the "off" position). I was madly in love with [Mayer]. I still am madly in love with him," says Perry. "All I can say about that relationship is that he’s got a beautiful mind — beautiful mind, tortured soul. I do have to figure out why I am attracted to these broken birds."
As for what the future holds, Perry is hopeful, saying, "I have to be happy being alone, and I am happy… I believe that I will be loved again, in the right way. I know I’m worth it.”

Katy – who is a spokesperson for Proactiv skincare - starts out with what seems to be a layer of foundation on her epidermis as a team primps and preens around her.
The singer even gets involved as she holds a small hand mirror up in front of her face to comb through her own lashes and eyebrows before she is worked on.
Priorities: She revealed that her eyes are the most important part of her look
Lashings of mascara: She says that her peepers frame her face when she applies make-up
She admits as she provides narration for the clip that she relies on her peepers looking perfect to achieve her signature style.
‘Most of the time I’m doing stuff with big lights and HD so there are a lot of things to think about when painting the face,’ she says. ‘But I love a good paint. My brows and my eyes I think are what frame my face.
‘I have alright lips and alright cheekbones but they’re no show offs. If I can get my brows and my eyes right then that sets the whole face.’

Blow it out: Katy revealed why she opted for raven tresses in her adult life
Katy confesses that she has calmed down with her make-up though throughout her career.
She preferred to hide behind lots of layers when she had problem skin.
‘We still like to do dramatic make-up but are coming into a more age-appropriate feel of experimenting,’ Katy continues.

She chose to change the hue of her locks after a DIY job gone wrong.
‘I’ve been dying my hair black since I was 15,’ she announces.
‘The whole reason why I dyed my hair black actually was because when I was 15 I chopped it all off and dyed it bleach blonde like Madonna in Who’s That Girl and it just didn’t look right. And so I bought a box of colour, went black and have never gone back.’
