I think the song is about Kate. She is after all a celebrity...and that world is different to what Matt knows and the lyrics kind of reminds me of some of that. I bet he must have wanted to pull his hair out the times he had to go to events with her. For her it's natural to have a facade as she is an actress born into show business and that is what they do. He's a musician who I think lives his life in truth and doesn't know how to fake it. Yet Matt is still gravitated towards her. He has to have contact with her for the rest of their lives for the sake of their child which will be hard for him I think. Kate's ex Chris Robinson said in some interviews how hard it was to be with Kate because of that world he found so fake and couldn't stand. After the divorce, he went on to marry a non-celebrity woman, had a child and they have been together for years.

I think the lesson here for future boyfriends of Kate Hudson is to wear a condom. :shrugs:

I don't know why but I don't think Kate's world would fit with him :/
