I don't think Scientologists seek much medical advice. I wonder what length of treatment she was able to seek? I saw her daughter thank a medical team...I wonder the scope of treatment. Denying their mentally ill son the help he so badly needed never sat well with me.
Not to mention repeated denials he ever had autism in the first place.

My friend grew up in Scientology. (She doesn’t like to discuss it as her family disowned her for leaving.)

Physical medical treatment is allowed, but not psychiatry. For marital or family problems, you can see a Scientology approved counselor. There’s a lot of restrictions with respect to women & children. For example they need to be quiet during labor (stories about this also came out when Katie Holmes had Suri).

I believe that is the Jehovah Witness that doesn't seek much medical help, although .. I admit, I don't know a heck of a lot about Scientology. That being said, while I personally think Scientology is rather silly, I do feel bad for John as it appears as though they had a pretty solid marriage and she seemed like a lovely person. Way too young and a hideous disease!

Yes, you go through extensive auditing sessions..which is just basically spilling your guts to a higher up member..and it goes into your file.

Jehovah Witnesses seek medical advice, there are some surgery that is frowned upon and most will not allow any blood transfusions or anything like that. I guess this is getting OT and religion is not permitted here, so I won't discuss it further..apologies to the mods.

I think on his instagram that he thanked the doctors/nurses at M D Anderson Cancer Center.

Very sad, she seemed like a lovely woman... though admittedly JT creeps me out as a scientology icon and all the rumors about him over the years. I always wondered what it must've been like in that marriage. Anyway, it's terrifying to know that all the wealth in the world and the best medical care can't save you from cancer.

This is so sad. Losing two women you loved to breast cancer. In the 1970s, John Travolta was in love with actress Diana Hyland (of TV's "Eight is Enough"), who died of breast cancer.
I watched a documentary about Saturday Night Fever which mentioned that John Travolta was filming Saturday Night Fever when Diana Hyland was dying and he took only a few days off to be with her and at her funeral. That must have been brutal.
