Beautiful rings! If I were you, I would consider having a new appraisal done. Hopefully she didn't try to switch stones in the 3 days that she had them.

Thank you! Yes, I told my husband that before I even got them back from the Police department! I will totally be doing that.

I didn't come back to update everyone because I still haven't gotten my rings back from the Jewelers, when I took them for what I thought was a regular cleaning the jeweler looked at my wedding ring prongs holding the middle diamond & two were bent & the diamond was loose so they sent it out for repair. I don't know what happened to my poor ring, but it will be back to normal soon.

She checked both rings with a tool that identifies real versus fake diamonds & they were all Diamonds, Thank goodness!

So after they get cleaned again, one gets fixed, the third step will be to have them appraised again for sure! :)

My room is locked so I think it is safer to have less people know that it is there. So I just need to hope that the cleaning staff doesn't visit. =_=

I would call the residence director or a trusted RA because RA's usually have to do a final check to make sure everything is unplugged, the door shut etc. If your heat wasn't turned on, and your school is in an area that requires heat, usually they do the maintanence/ turning everything on while everyone is on break. Either way I really hope it is there! I still am not over the loss of my studs from my past dorm so I'll have my fingers crossed for you!

Man this is a tough one, but I think I would have called if it was me. At least you would know if it wasn't there who may be responsible, but God willing it will be right where you left it, Good luck & keep us posted!

Oh no! I hope it is there when you return, any way you can call the university? I know how you feel right now :(

Thanks :)
I called them to see if anyone was going to visit and they said someone was going to check the windows to see if they were shut as you said!

Oh, Lord. The stories I could tell...

Well, first. My Jennifer Fisher necklace - I was slowly building it, as all the pieces are ala carte, so I had two charms and my necklace.I took it off at work, and it disappeared. I was beyond heartbroken! I still to this day do not know if a coworker was to blame or someone else, but I searched high and low and never found it.

My second story is about my Van Cleef and Arpels sweet bracelet - I looked down one day and it was gone! I couldn't find it for months and months, then, after a particularly bad lightning and thunder storm, I happened to go out and found it in perfect condition right by my door. I love that little bracelet, and that is why I now have two!

Forgot another story - this one just happened! Also to do with my Jennifer Fisher necklace, or a charm more specifically. I was playing with my diamond pave star charm while sitting on the couch, and what do you know, I got distracted and it fell off my lap and in between the couch cushions. I didn't think anything of it, but later, when I went to look for it, couldn't find it ANYWHERE. I moved my fingers in between the back of the couch - like the crevice where the seat of the couch and the back of the couch meet - and could barely make out the tip of my charm! Well fast forward an HOUR of my boyfriend and I trying to get that dang charm out - after "losing" it once before, I was NOT HAVING IT. Eventually I took a metal clothes hanger and fashioned it into a hook. On what seemed like the 90th try, out came my charm, no worse for wear!

I was super happy I had managed to save it without cutting deeper into the couch (seriously!) but I did have big bruises on the top sides of my hands for about four days after.

Beautiful diamond stud earrings 2.5 carats total weight. I got in bed one night and realized that I still had them on, so I unscrewed them in the dark and placed on my night stand. Totally forgot about them. in the meantime I had knocked some magazines off the stand and the next day vacuum the floor. I know that I know that I know they were sucked up by my Dyson. It was too late, I had emptied the canister in the trash. So sad. I got those for my 40th BD.

Ouch, I'm so sorry that happened.

My DH lost a cufflink at a concert and it was returned to the front desk by a good samaritan.

I lost a watch and it was never found.

I lost a Cartier gold earring at Whole Foods and someone found it and turned it in.

People can be kind.

Oh dear i know how you all feel. So many to tell! Some with happy endings, and some not :(
Hmmmm each day i will tell one till i finish them :)
I will start with my most tragic! I had gotten lovely earings from an oversea botique where we spent our summer holiday last summer and for the life of me they entered my heart and centered there! They had a diamond and a chocolate\champaign diamond each.
I lost them in my family house while i was busy with my daughter who was sick.
happy ending is that i ordered them (paid again-ouch) and i will never part with them again!

Oh dear krawford i am so sorry thats so sad :(
I am guilty of taking off my jewlery in multiple places in my house and its a strong reason that got me to loose many this year So i am trying to make it a habbit to take them off in my box or at least collect them nightly and make sure they go to the box.

Once I was shopping in a Jeweler at my mall, and I realized my Diamond bracelet had fallen off!
I was terrified it was in the mall or parking lot and just as I was gathering myself to retrace my steps,
a stranger walked up to my salesperson and said " I found this outside of your store, I though it might be part of your inventory" and held up my diamond bracelet! I was amazed. So Lucky!

Loosing Jewelry is horrible
I keep a little glass dish in every room so just in case I have to take something off it goes in the dish. It helps me.
I've had a few nice Jewelry items stolen, I still get a little sick thinking about it.
