OMG, please don't show me any more Smythson!! Their stuff haunts me but it's just sooo expensive!:sweatdrop:
Your jewellery box is lovely Swanky:smile1:.
I don't have a lot of jewellery (well I do have some, but there's only a small amount that I actually wear...my poor mother thinks I must be a changling!:D) but I would still like a lovely box, at a lovely price of course!

I like wood jewelry boxes that will set on my dresser. Last year for our anniversary, hubby drove me to the jewelry store I love and said he was buying me whichever one I wanted! I picked out a very highly polished burlwood one -- it has 3 drawers and a top that opens and plenty of room inside! My favorite drawer is the bottom one with sections -- they are perfectly sized to hold watches. I keep most jewelry in a safe, but love having this on my dresser with the items I wear most often.

For my daughter's 18th birthday last month, we bought her a new jewelry box. She liked my new one (the shape) but didn't like the wood. I ended up buying at macys online during one of their big sales. It's Reed & Barton and called Hannah. She has a very nice jewelry collection started and I gave her a few of my mother's pieces for her 18th. :smile1: She'll get more pieces on her 21st.

If you want something small and ornate, Anthropologie usually has some beautiful ones, and Urban Outfitters too just not quite as nice or expensive.

I also got a large faux leather one from Crate and Barrel with lots of sections and it works great.

Mine isn't small by any stretch, I have far too much jewelry (most of it inexpensive). I bought an Alex drawer unit on casters from IKEA (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30104322) and put it in my closet. I bought foam core board and covered it with black velveteen fabric, using spray adhesive, and made drawer inserts to fully cover the bottom of each drawer. Now I have large pull-out drawers for my jewelry, watches, and other small accessories and the black base makes it easy to see everything. :smile1:

I'm on the lookout for a small but good quality jewelry box to keep on my dresser for fine pieces only (have something else for costume jewelry). I'd love to see what others have or are wanting.
