i have the gold large initial, and have had some lovely comments about it. it really stands out and i love it. i'm saving for my next jennifer necklace.

I also found a wonderful artist from etsy (found about it from a youtube video) who does similar initial necklaces. I am going to order one. Here is a link to a blog post and video about them. He does gold and silver ones. The silver are quite reasonable (around 95 for 1 1/2 pendant w/ chain)

This thread has really helped! Today's my birthday and I'm getting ready to order the large, gold necklace....letter R. Very excited. I fell in love with this necklace the first time I saw it on Lauren Conrad from the Hills. I'm 32....still watch it 
I have liked these style of necklaces too for quite some time now. I think that they were made even more popular when Alexis from Real Housewives of Orange County wore a diamond encrusted one. I'd love to find one in rose gold with the first letters of my two children's names on it.
