^I'd say that's subjective. I don't necessarily think her legs lack tone or definition.

Technically speaking, "tone" and definition are the same thing, which boils down to the amount of bodyfat over the body part in question. And that is completely a function of diet. One can workout three hours a day but eat a crappy diet-- they'll never achieve definition. And conversely, one can never step foot in the gym but follow a very strict diet, and they will be able to get that defined look (what is under the skin that is being defined might be another story). Diet is absolutely the deciding factor.

Regardless, I think she looks really good :shrugs:
 
^I love you MichelleAntonia i really do but i have to disagree. Tone happens when individuals exercise and their fat turns to muscle and the skin tightens up. Of course certain exercises will tone certain areas, for example: crunches, sit-ups, etc will tone the tummy, lunges, squats, etc will tone the backs of the thighs and the buttocks, lifting weights and boxing/combat, etc will tone the arms. People will have a lack of tone and lack of muscle definition if they are not exercising sufficiently. That isn't to say that is the case with JHL though. I don't know if what i see on her is lack of tone or rather having put on a little weight, maybe she is eating more, maybe she is exercising less, who knows?
But i DO know that some people can be larger but still be toned and some folks can be skinny and NOT be toned, people like LL used to remind me of the latter. She looked like she just used to starve herself to maintain her slight frame but had loose skin around her buttocks and thighs, obviously because she wasn't exercising when the weight was coming off she she was left with loose skin...
It all comes down to exercising though, nothing to do with how skinny or how big someone is...
 
I think she looks fine, although she clearly has gained some weight and appears to fluctuate. I don't think she looks weak or overindulgent. She's obviously pear-shaped by nature, and I would much rather see someone who is a size 6 or 8 than someone who is a 0 and doesn't have any definition or curves. Of course then again, I think Christina Hendricks is gorgeous.

I do agree about her legs, though. We see her in workout clothing quite often, but her legs don't look overly toned or muscular. Weird, but everyone's body is different. I'm one of those that tends to "show" muscles and such pretty quickly if I'm working out heavily, but I have a coworker who runs and works out constantly, and she looks very thin, but her body doesn't look "toned" at all. Very odd.
 
Cardio like running burns calories, it doesn't really tone, which is why is has to do with WHAT exercise that you do whether a certain part of your body shows muscle or tightened skin rather than fat, cellulite and loose skin. Like i said, things like squats, lunges, rowing machine, etc will add tone and muscle to legs, crunches, sit-ups, reverse curls will add tone and muscle to stomach, lifting weights, combat, etc will add muscle and tone to the arms. Which is why a good work-out routine will consist of more than just cardio exercise :D
 
I just wanted to say by weak and indulgent I meant, anyone can look like she looks right now, she is not manipulating her body to be better than what it is (like someone like Lauren Conrad - who used to be pudgy but now looks awesome).

It is hard to maintain a body weight 10 lbs below where you're naturally at.
I know this because I struggle with this as well.
 
^She fluctuates a LOT, i remember those bikini pics of her when she had gained a little weight and the press really picked on her for it, a few months later and she was on the cover of a magazine having lost a load of weight and was gushing about it. Now it seems like she has put a little back on again...
I doubt that she will ever get her "Heartbreakers" figure back again though, she is getting older now and probably doesn't feel like putting in the effort any longer...

I also just don't think she has quite as much motivation to push herself to maintain the awesome figure - she just isn't in the spotlight as much now as she was 10 years ago. I think even if she did get back to her fighting weight, she still wouldn't be as popular as she once was, and she prob knows that too. She's probably at a size where she feels relatively comfortable and can still get roles.
 
I like her...and as someone who is currently "afraid" of her scale (holidays tend to do that to me:nuts:), I prefer to see celebrities that have weight issues, but still look hot

lol you're right, I didn't mean to suggest that exercise is useless. No way, I'm a complete advocate of it and have personal experience from being an athlete and having parents who are trainers and physical therapists. All I was saying I guess is that bodyfat percentage is mainly dictated by diet. Body shape, muscular size and strength, etc, that's definitely a function of exercise and diet together. So how much fat one has on their body is more closely related to what/how they do/don't eat than any other factor. So she could be extremely fit and have toned muscles... but they don't show, there's no definition, because her diet is crappy (I'm NOT say I think this is the case with her). ANd like you say, someone could be "skinny", but the muscle that's there, showing, was never challenged, never sustained by proper nutrition, etc, so they won't look as fit. And you're also right about the TYPE of exercise one does and how that determines bodyshape and what's underneath the fat.

I think if nothing else then she has a super pretty face, great hair, nice choice in handbags (and sometimes clothes and shoes) and seems to be a happy lady, so kudos to her for being that way, i would hate for her to crash diet and lose weight just because the tabloids picked on her again, hopefully she will be stronger this time :D
