I "think" it is the same vintage dress. It was probably tailored and modified to fit V's body. And sequins taken off. But who gave her the dress? The whole resemblance is too creepy.
Just like the JLo Versace green dress was "altered" some 20 years later, to give it a modern twist.
The blond lady with the awful dress who the speaker doesn't know is Lavinia Borromeo Elkann, Beatrice Borromeo Casiraghi's half sister. Her husband is John Elkann, President of Stellantis and Ferrari and grandson of the late Gianni Agnelli.
The articles I saw it in claim it is the same dress that has had restoration done, including reworking the sequins. Who truly knows though.
She would have been better off making (or buying) a new dress. These designer creations aren’t meant to be reused, especially not after more than 20 years. By the way the aged fabric was disintegrating, I wonder if there was anything left but tatters at the end of the day.
That dress made her look like she'd been shipwrecked, swam to an island and rescued a year later. She could have found something better at Target. What stylist would have recommended that she wear it?

Wow. I didn't know it. Apparently ex wife McKenzie attended the wedding as well. What a graceful woman. I love her red dress. It takes a lot of confidence to wear red. LOVE!
