OK guys I know you are all invited but it doesn't hurt to get some inside scoop on the nuptials.

Interesting. Seems like such a waste of money, especially with the divorce rate so high.

The wedding doesn't make the marriage. To each their own, but weddings always seemed to me a reason for people to show off their wealth if they have it. The Bride and Groom are usually exhausted and can't even remember half the wedding.

I told my DH I would prefer to elope, because I've never liked being the center of attention. The military "encouraged" us to get married fast, and although I thought it was very cheesy at the time, we went ahead and had a quickie Vegas wedding.

My DH insisted I'd regret not having a wedding ceremony one day, so we also had a very well done, but small (I think 96 guests total?) more to make him and my parents happy. I still don't remember most of that wedding, besides being annoyed at all the details the wedding planner got wrong. The Vegas wedding I remember quite well, even 25 years later! :P

I think these two would qualify as show-offs

Baby Thank You GIF

If those two got married on a Hawaiian beach they'd import the sand from the Amalfi Coast. They crave an over the top spectacle. After the wedding I wonder if Lauren will rediscover food. Maybe their wedding won't be as expensive as it's reported to be. They could order a lot of the supplies from Ama zon and then just return them. Since they insist on a wedding extravaganza, that's fine by me, but I don't want to hear a single word from either of them (or any of their guests) about protecting the environment, green energy, fossil fuels, carbon emissions, or climate change. Not a single word! That being said, I will enjoy the photos and on a scale of 1 to 10, determine how slutty Lauren's dress will be 🤔 .

Honestly, I think Venice should charge guests disembarking off cruise ships a significantly higher fee. Those guests typically don’t spend a lot in the port cities (they don’t stay in hotels and they don’t even stay for dinner). And, they don’t usually shop high end. They leave a lot of garbage and cause a lot of wear and tear and crowding. IMO

Bezos and co will be spending a significant amount, but agree that it would have been a lot better had they not chosen Venice. JMO

Huge cruise ships are a burden in Venice, that's for sure! ITA that the time constraints of the cattle call crowd frequently don't allow for a leisurely dinner at port stops. It is disgusting that people litter and leave a lot of garbage anywhere they go.

DH and I vacationed in Venice a few years ago, had a wonderful time sight-seeing on our own, wining-dining and shopping. I hope that the Bezos wedding guests support the local economy in a big way.

I'm so behind the times that I had to look up "what is a foam party?". There's a machine that creates a lot of suds. Bezos could probably afford more than one to make even MORE foam. People frolic in the suds. The suds are not supposed to be sticky and it's supposed to be easy to clean up afterward. My knowledge is ever-expanding. As for having to change wedding venue, if that's true, it doesn't matter what's going on the world--there will always be activists against whatever so it's easy to pull any current event out of somebody's rear-end to scream about. Hopefully their wedding goes as planned as I have a real tacky curiosity to see the photos, plebe that I am. They may regret not eloping to Vegas and getting an Elvis impersonator to marry them.

I couldn't care less about their wedding or pics of her with her boobs pushing up out of a wedding gown
