Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez

Listening to talk radio out of El Lay, they (two level-headed guys) said Lauren is way too good for Jeff because he's nowhere near her level of evolved human. I know very little about her. They said awhile back Leon Musk publicly criticized her for a huge donation of money and her response was to double her donation.
Are you sure he wasn't talking about the first wife, who has donated billions to worthy causes?

They said the name Lauren and referred to her as the SO, I didn't know that there is an ex. They confused the two women, and so did I. But it was a boss move on her part.
Mackenzie Scott married Jeff Bezos pre Amazon in 1992 and helped him co found Amazon. There was no prenup so when they divorced in 2019, community property laws meant she ended up with $35.6 billion in Amazon stock.

And has been giving away billions ever since. Unlike Bezos, her ex-husband, who won't even pay his employees a decent wage.

Mackenzie is living my dream. Being able to help that many people would make me so happy.
I agree! After having more than enough for yourself and family and friends, I'd immediately want to donate to worthy causes.

If I were a self important narcissist, I would even build a hospital wing and name it after myself (or not in my case because that kind of thing emarrasses me, I would just give the funds to have it built) but can you imagine building libraries or hospitals to help others? Or just the little guy on the street, struggling.

Has Mackenzie done all the donating with the Amaz*n money or has Jeff done a few things as a write off? As I said, he certainly isn't paying his employees a fair wage. And apparently Prime is expensive too, although I don't have it.

I have Prime and it is worth the money for me, $15 a month. I started using during covid and use it even more now. Getting free delivery is huge for me. Rather than running to a store when I forget an item I order it from Amazon and it is here the next day. I live in the suburbs, so it saves my time and gas money. Their prices are equal or competitive to where I shop. Plus they have good prices on oddball items I would probably have to order online anyway. Amazon is here at least 3 times a week, so at least 12 times a month. At a little over $1 a visit it is worth my time and gas money. The people who work there are great. I have 2 big Chow chows and used Chewy before Amazon. I love Chewy, but they had a new delivery driver in my area and rather than bringing the boxes w/50 lbs of dry food up my 750 ft driveway he started leaving them at my mailbox, which is another 200 ft further up the road. I have a fused spine, so I had to drive to the mailbox, open the box and load each item into my car as well as the 50 lb bag of dry food. I called Fedex Ground ( which is owner operated )several times and complained and it fell on deaf ears. And here is the kicker, I am retired from Fedex the Priority division of the company. so I switched to Amazon and they bring the box up to my garage and leave it there which is exactly where I want it. Finally the ground division guy left and the Chewy box is getting dropped off where it should, but I am staying with Amazon. You also get Amazon Prime Video free. For me, it is worth every penny.

Has anyone seen the documentary called 'Buy Now! The Shopping Conspiracy' on Netflix? Most of it is about Amazon and Jeff Bezos and also Apple.....how destructive over consumption has been to the world. It's quite eye opening. If the mods want to move this to the TV forum, it's up to them. But check it out!!
It will make me feel so guilty and sad!
