Just got this cutie in the mail. On the fence about whether I should keep it or not because of the colored chain… do you think this bag could still be considered a “classic” Chanel bag? Would appreciate your thoughts!

I think this might be my favorite Chanel bag I've ever seen. I love it. The colors are so fun. The colors will likely come and go throughout the years, looking very fun and fresh in some years, less so in some, and vintage in others. Can the chain be removed or tucked into the bag when the colors aren't working for you and then put back on when you want it?

Are you keeping it? I hope you do. To me, it's a Chanel rendition of the basic bucket bag, which it hasn't done before because bucket bags are in nature too casual. And Chanel brand is more feminine and formal.

I'd suggest getting a bag insert to protect the bag and protect too much sagging.

I think it's cute given the small size and rainbow chain. And deserves a place in a complete/ comprehensive Chanel collection.

Hi, I just purchased this bag last month and I notice they start to peel? I’m not sure if you can see from the photo, but they’re peeling on the corner of the flap and both sides too. This side probably the worst. Actually you won’t see it without the flashlight, do you think I should go to the boutique? I was thinking they probably say its wear and tear, but to a month old bag? Plus I haven’t use it that much.

Anyone trying to tell you it's "wear and tear" after a month of barely using it is out of their mind. These bags are SO expensive and are supposed to last for years. I literally have no-name cheapo wallets and bags from DECADES ago that are holding up better than this. This is for sure a faulty bag. They should definitely replace it. Quality should NOT peel!!

Went to 31 Rue Cambon on my last day in Paris and got lucky! The SAs there seem really overworked and exhausted, and many didn't show much interest in serving the clients beyond simply taking out what they already have on the shelves. My SA was really nice though I could see the sheer fatigue on her face. She went to the backroom to retrieve the last small le boy in black caviar for me. When I asked whether there are any more small bags that can fit a phone along with just some cards, she also recommended a seasonal bag in lambskin that resembled a book and I was immediately head over heels in love. I'm a writer by profession so that really spoke to my soul. I snapped up both of those within 15 minutes and headed off to Dior to get my husband his coveted Dior jeans before they closed. As I was in a hurry to leave, I forgot to ask the SA what kind of leather my le boy is crafted with. I can't tell and don't even know if there's a difference between the shiny caviar and the iridescent caviar. Please help! The curiosity is killing me.

The book one is sooooo cute! But I’m glad you got both instead of picking one!

Here are some pics of the Chanel 19 pouch with wristlet I bought from Fashionphile (in goatskin). The serial number starts with 30. Does anyone know what cruise collection this is from? I believe Fashionphile has it listed from year 2020.

I did the strap conversion hack I found from a youtuber using a strap I already have along with using an O ring that opens and closes with a spring. Unfortunately the size O ring right under the size I am currently using doesn't open wide enough to feed over and through the leather loop so that is why Im using the size Im using. Regardless it's a brilliant idea! I am currently awaiting for my Chanel inspired strap to arrive. I actually found one with gold hardware with the color "leather" in beige so it will look much nicer then the strap I am currently using that is black. Also, I ordered my chain to be 120 cm so I can use it as a crossbody and also double it so it becomes a cute double chain shoulder bag. The strap I'm using now is a bit too short for my liking as a crossbody so I'm using it as a shoulder bag now. It holds a decent amount HOWEVER the way the card inserts are made inside this pouch was not ideal at all. Does anyone with this pouch knows what in the world are we suppose to use the tiny narrow slits on both sides of the card holder? It makes no sense to me. Making 2 sets of full size card holders side by side would have been a better choice then making just 1 full set in the middle and then leaving 2 sets of these tiny slits on each side to be used for nothing pretty much. Even if they left both sides to have 1 deep slit that would hold a lip product is better then what is there now. Wish they could be used for something. Lol
For the tiny, narrow slits in the card holder, try placing the cards in vertically. I have a Diorama WOC and that is the way the credit cards fit in.

Never seen that! Not normal at all.

Hi there. The cards fit perfect in the card slots horizontally (the middle slots) and if placed vertically, using the top slot causes the card to stick up and out over the opening. The tiny slots on the left and right of the middle slots are way too narrow for a card to go in vertically. I have used the tiny slot to hold money that I just roll up and place inside. Lol. Just silly that they came up with this concept. Here are pics so you can see what I'm talking about.

I don't know what they are for either. Since it's originally designed as a pouch, perhaps bobby pins and hair ties, band-aids will work in there?

If there isn't a middle compartment, this pouch is actually quite roomy.

Oooh, you know, I did not think of that! That is a good point. Bobby pins, hair ties, etc would fit that is for sure. I was thinking if they just placed a stitch in the center of the slots, there would be 2 rows, side by side for cards. Anyway it's not a deal breaker for me, and what you said makes sense. Maybe it's for little nick nacks. There is no middle compartment, it's more of a divider. It's basically 2 pouches sewn together to make 1 pouch. It is pretty roomy for the size it is.

Thank you! These two are actually my very first Chanel bags! I was initially considering between the Cartier Love bracelet and a Chanel bag. But when I walked into Cartier, I bought it immediately. Then when I went to Rue Cambon and saw these two, I knew I just had to get it too. And now I'm hooked! I'm going to Berlin in March and hope to get a classic flap there! Can anyone share their Berlin SA contact please? It will be so useful in helping me get my dream bag. ❤

I would at least try and go in, see what they say. A month old bag should be pristine.
