Why would she need to spend that much? She may spend more than $200 million trying to keep custody of her son. I hope her ex keeps it amicable for their son`s sake.
Sharia law usually gives the father custody of the children in divorce. If he takes the child back to Qatar, she could have a real problem. Why would she need to spend that much?

I have not read anything regarding your statement in your first paragraph, and given the malecentric bent of their laws I really don't see it. I think you are spot on regarding your second paragraph. That's not correct.. mother gets custody unless she gets married, then it goes to her mother.
Muslim countries apply Sharia law selectively, and only when it suits them. In case of custody, they will rarely side with the foreign mother knowing she will take her child(ren) out of the country. Janet won't stand a chance in Qatar.

Have no idea. She will probably file in England since they have a home there and the laws would be better for her. Maybe there is a prenupWhere did they get married?
I'm still not seeing why the assumption that it may cost her upwards of $200m for custody makes sense. No one knows where they got married or where she'll file...Have no idea. For the most part, I don't think so under Sharia law. Parts of your country might not be covered. In Islam, the mother has custody.

You are assuming both parents are Muslim and equal nationality. That's not the case here.
If he takes his son to his home country Janet may never get custody of her son.
I went through something similiar with my son. Luckily he was born in America so eventually federal agents assisted in helping bring him back to America.
With Janet's husband being so rich and powerful it would probably be impossible for her to get her son back if her ex wanted to keep him.
The smartest thing Janet did was not giving birth in her husband's home country. If her son would have been a natural born citizen there she wouldn't be able to take him out of the country.
