RIP Madame Birkin. Thank you for giving all of us a beautiful handbag that we cherished for years and more to come. Such a very sad day.

Well-written! Thank you!Everyone has already voiced so eloquently the force of nature, the style the free spirit that was Jane Birkin.
She was unapologetically herself and more than that cared deeply about so much more than her appearance.
Her work with Amnesty International, for example
She was a humanitarian who used her fame for the greater good and to speak for those who have no voice.
She was amazing!
gone far too soon.
may her soul rest in peace.
That movie was the first time I saw her when I was young too! The whole film seemed so glamorous. And her transformation at the end!I've been a fan of Jane's since I saw her in Evil Under the Sun when I was a little kid. She and I share a birthday and I hope I embody a modicum of her signature simple, carefree style and joie de vivre.
Now I had to go buy the dvd! Thanks @scndlslv and @Veritybelle.That movie was the first time I saw her when I was young too! The whole film seemed so glamorous. And her transformation at the end!![]()
You’re welcome! That little series of Agatha Christie movies (starring Peter Ustinov as Poirot) had the most wonderful casts (Maggie Smith! Mia Farrow! David Niven unless I’m mistaken), and locations. Enjoy!
