J12 vs Rolex

I just bought a new Cartier La Dona and when chatting with some resellers (where I was looking for it second hand), they all scoffed at the resale value of the J12, touting both Rolex and Cartier as having enduring value and appeal. If resale doesn't matter to you, go with the watch that really speaks to you, style and function wise...

I'm on the J12 bus. Personally, I'm in love with it! I looked at Cartier and Rolex but they don't do it for me. I thought I wanted a Cartier but I did not like them when I tried them on.

My advice would be go try them all on if you haven't already...I'll bet one will just beg you to take it home!

If I want a sporty look, I prefer Rolex mid-size (31mm). It looks sporty and timeless and holds the value pretty well. I also like J12, but won't spend money on it. Just enjoy looking at them on others' wrists.

I think couple of years ago i would've recommended Rolex.. good brand everybody knows.

But being a girl and being more introduced to different brands of watches I think a j12 is so beautiful and timeless.. i really want one with diamond bezel in white. I kind of like the fact that not everybody knows the watch but it def gets you noticed simply because of its beauty.

I don't know if this is the right thing to say but I would go for a j12 if you love the color and know that you can wear most of your outfits with it. I don't know if j12 goes with sweats all the time (neither does a rolex but it's material/color wise it's slightly more compatible with outfits than j12)

I think a j12 is fabulous, and if you are a trend setter or secretly want the right amount of bling to make your outfit pop i would totally go for it!

I've been struggling with this, but in the end, I'd rather get a watch by a watchmaker first - then get a fun one ! ;)

Rolex, THEN Chanel !

I would choose a Rolex. I know some here will disagree, but I find the J12 very trendy. For me, it wouldn't be a watch I would wear in 5 years. So I'd go with the Rolex. For that much money, I want to keep it around for a while.
