I just like to use my hands and I feel like I can't use use them with rings on! I also hate rings on, even a plain one, with gloves on.

That's because your diamond is so high ;) I have a bezel set, and I only take it off when I make bread or pizza (I don't want the dough to go under the diamond inside the ring). but I'm not as "crazy" about diamonds as you are ;)

Your ring is stunning, and I love how it looks with just the plain band next to it. It deserved all this litterature (yes, I read the whole thing!)

Wow ame, it's stunning!! Your wedding set always sets the standard IMO, but I love the new pics to remind me of what is true excellence :welcome:

What I love about this setting is the delicacy of the band really allows the crispy beauty of your gorgeous solitaire to shine   :girlsigh:

I hope you're recovering well after everything my dear - the gorgeousness of the bling should definitely help :D  :p

Ame--congrats on your new setting. So sorry to hear about your accident, but am glad you are alright. Your ring is absolutely stunning. I love the delicate-ness of the setting.. It showcases your stone just brilliantly.

I also love that you described the BGD packaging and presentation in such detail! My e-ring and wedding band are actually at BGD right now and I can't wait to get my new ring back. They say it'll take 3-4 weeks (ah, the suspense). I've never purchased this kind of jewelry online before, so I'm a little anxious though it sounds like BGD is top notch.

Did you have CADs made for your ring? If so, how long did it take them to send CADs after they received your stone?

Congrats again on this stunner! Wear her in good health. :)

I am a choosy picky girl but no way comparable to you :p I know you love perfection but could not imagine anyone could go for such detailed requests on such a simple setting. However I am thrilled with the result, you did a excellent job and even with a simple 6 prong setting like Tiffany, you did make a difference, a better version. I have a Tiffany 6 prongs setting myself and I still envy with yours. Congratulations in your new setting...

I am, thank you! I am staring at it and perking right up! Now if only this dang cold would vacate the premises!

Thank you very kindly, I am very pleased with it. I will certainly be glad to set a standard!

Beautiful ring.
Congratulations!!
What a great way to move forward into 2015.
Thank you!

Just lovely, AME...good for you!

Hi there! I much appreciate the kind words! I did this in a separate reply on purpose so that I could give you more detail without it getting buried.

The first go around there were no cads. I didn't expect any, though, either. I figured it was a stock setting, so I wasn't really needing special CADs. I had just asked for it to be set higher. Their determination of "higher" was a bit different than mine. My initial timeline then was 2-3 weeks from when they got the stone.d

When we redid the height of the setting, we did have a CAD done (I was not expecting that, either, and was pleasantly surprised to receive it) to confirm the height of the stone would be adequate for me, and it was. I would say a week from when I returned the ring is when I received that. I think that's simply because we were in the middle of a holiday rush, though since you're working on two items, and you're coming off of a rush, that could be why the timeline. That's not a bad timeline at all, actually, that sounds like a pretty typical timeline. Esp for two items.

When I got it back, I was VERY pleased. I am always anxious, regardless, because 1) I am just that way-- total control freak, and 2) history with past items has made me this way. This worked out how I expected it would, though, and I am thrilled.

Their packaging and presentation is fabulous. Everyone gets the requisite Fedex packaging on the outside, that's required, regardless of vendor. But when you get inside of that...Wowwee! I think you will be blown away. I have seen beautiful packaging but I just kept saying WOW. My husband was like "You know it's incredible if you won't stop saying WOW over and over." I have been known to buy things just for packaging. I could be on hoarders.
