Did you get your VAT refund direct from Hermes or from other agency?

"Global Refund France" I believe. Located in Paris. I think you can find a customer service email address for them if you hunt, or a website. This was the company that handles VAT refunds for the sales.
I thought Hermes do their VAT refunds in-house? Tried to contact website for "Global Refund France" but no luck.

actually, i got it last week - FINALLY.
BUT i had a debit and a credit processed - effectively canceling each other out. i called american express yesterday who told me i would need to contact global refund to get it fixed. i believe you can call them to follow-up on your refund status. if you look on your receipt from hermes, there is a document ID number listed across the top (right below the bar code). global refund can look up this number even though hermes processes their own refunds. they have a 1.866 number to call from the states - just keep in mind the hours listed are for europe (so time difference).

so it's been a minute since i've done some hermes shopping, but my plan to purchase another belt, reminded me that i have yet to receive my vat return from my purchases back in november. when i made the purchases the SA told me not to worry because hermes handles it's own vat refunds (so i wouldn't have to take it to the airport or anything) and i would get the money in about a month or two. when i spoke with her again she told me to be patient because it sometimes takes longer. however, i think six months is a little too long. have i gotten screwed? is there anything i can do?

yep, I'm afraid. Without the customs stamp from the airport (or from the border) you will not get back the VAT.
Perhaps your SA was referring to the company that Hermès uses for the administration of the VAT refund. A lot is done via Globalrefund (?) and it can be that Hermès uses it's one company. But in any case, you absolutely need the stamp from customs.
