I keep wondering about the Chloe Edith...I haven't made up my mind yet... Can't quite figure out the press on this one and HAVE NOT seen it in real life... (Hmmm...I am a psychologist and researcher, so conclusions are not drawn until all data is available...)

Has anyone seen the Edith IRL?

I was at NM last Saturday and I mention to my SA that I'm really after the Edith. I think it said backorder on their sheet so she said she will check if I can bypass the list (which I am on anyway). Of course, there is no Edith because it's not out yet. According to Chloe SCP, they are coming in "in a couple of months". My SA at Nordstrom said that the bags may be stuck at customs. She said their last shipment of Chloes was stuck at customs for 2 months!. I'm having a handbag drought as I keep waiting for this bag so I hope it's worth it.

Anyway, if someone is still looking for a black Chanel reissue, NM at Palo Alto has the medium and small. They are not on display. They bring it out only if you ask. I can give the number of my SA there to whoever is interested.

yeah i haven't seen anything lately that i'm dying to have. don't like the new fendi and i already have the gaucho, and i don't like the new chloe... this must be drought season for me. must wait for fall?

I am wondering, and perhaps I am ridiculously stupid, but why is it that eluxury charges $1410 for the smaller gaucho while Dior charges $995, and eluxury charges $1995 while Dior charges $1395? Why the markup? And why are some people on ebay paying even more, when, like all of you notice, it seems available?

Dior here charges $1395 for the medium and $1995 for the large. might want to double check with your local Dior that you didn't read the prices wrong, because i believe that this price is what has been reported across the board, with the exception of Noriko's case, but i believe the price in Hawaii has been changed to match the prices around the country.

and the it-bags aren't overly easy to find in Atlanta. i think that they underestimate the demand (Atlanta has grown a ton in a short time and i've noticed it becoming a lot more fashionable), so we don't get as many as we really have the market for. and i think a lot of the places keep the really good bags in the back for people that specifically request them (that was the case w/ the dior gaucho, i had to ask for it).

So it sounds like the paddy, gaucho, and spy are fairly "available" at the current time (if you call, they can be located). Current spring b-bags are quite available. The b.Fendi is out in NYC (BG), but general availability remains to be seen. And delivery and specifications regarding the Edith are current mysteries...

Are predicted Spring 06 "it" bags (e.g. b.Fendi, gaucho, and Edith) leaving you a bit underwhelmed???

The NM in Orlando had a whiskey Chloe paddington and the Betty satchel on Friday. I stopped to look at them and the SA came up to me and asked if I was interested. I told her I had the paddy, and she then showed me the other Chloe bags that they had on display. I asked if they had the Edith, but no such luck

I also saw a black Spy at Bloomingdale's a couple of weeks ago.

I live in that same area and my SA at neimans called me when that Whiskey Paddington came in 2 weeks ago. I went to look at it but decided to stick with the choco I have on order through LVR. The reason that paddie is probably still there is because when I looked at it it had a flaw. If you look at the lower portion on the front of the bag there is like a dark line like the color did not take to the leather properly or it was stained. I pointed this out to the SA but he said tried to say it was supposed to be like that. Righhhht. ;) Before that they had gotten 30-40 pieces of Chloe in (according to another SA) and they were all sold.
Bloomies had 2 spys as of last Sat.

Was in Singapore over the last weekend...saw White Fendi Spys, Honey and the multi-coloured Zucca print on a black canvas background. The Honey was much more attractive IRL than the photos portrayed it to be.

In the Balenciaga boutique, saw the blue, lilac, light pink (I think). Saw the new motorcycle tote which is essentially between the size of the Medium/City and Office. It it open top with no zip.

Chloe leather silverados still seen to be going strong.

TheArtofAcquisition: When I was at Saks this past weekend, I saw THREE sizes of the Gaucho, they have the medium saddle and the "large" double-saddle for $1,395 and $1,995, BUT they also had a "mini", which was about half the size of the other two, and I think it was $995. Cute, but doesn't look like it fits anything. So I think this could be the cause of the confusion....

Wow :amazed: I didn't even notice the flaw, but I was in a hurry, since I had parked there and was on my way out. I know that there are natural flaws and variations in the leather of each bag, but from what you're describing, it doesn't sound like it's supposed to be like that. I wonder why they had that one on display if there was a mark on it? Hmm.

To be honest, I did not love the b.Fendi or the gaucho BEFORE or AFTER viewing them IRL. I first tried the b.Fendi out at a NM trunk show. I liked the fact that the medium bag could be worn on the shoulder as an alternative to the arm, but I just did not covet it... My husband refers to it as the "horseshoe" bag...it has always reminded me of a bag that Minnie Mouse would carry for some reason...

And the gaucho...I lived in AZ for a time and CO briefly...I think if you have lived in the West, you probably do not need to re-live it in the form of a handbag (never did get into that cowboy vibe)...

I keep wondering about the Chloe Edith...I haven't made up my mind yet... Can't quite figure out the press on this one and HAVE NOT seen it in real life... (Hmmm...I am a psychologist and researcher, so conclusions are not drawn until all data is available...)

I ordered my Edith from a little boutique in Costa Mesa (since the Chloe store there had a waitlist of 65 for 15 bags) and got the third of the THREE bags this store had on pre-order. My SA told me it would arrive in March/April but could be as soon as February if the come in early. My question is about the press -- I haven't seen any. What press are you referring to? I would love to see any info that is out on the Edith. I just saw the Chloe ad that is running in all the magazines and fell in love with it there.

I know, it's weird. The line is right below where the bag would naturally slump over into itself so when it is sitting on the shelf you can't see it. But when you pick the bag up and look at it on the bottom half there is a definite line (but it's not creased so it could not be a wrinkle from the slumping) that is darker than the rest of the bag. I hope whoever gets that bag at least gets a good discount!
