Is your Cartier Watch a quartz movement or mechanical movement?

When I bought my BB I asked my SA which to get and he said he liked quartz better so I went with that. I don't wear it all the time though.

What kind of service for automatic watch is around $500? Battery change?

Automatic means mechanical. I know its not the same word but they are synonym in the watch industry.

Like I said I do NOT know how much it is to maintain a mechanical/automatic watch or a quartz/battery watch for Cartier! You can do a search and topics will show up. GL

Mine is an automatic. I prefer the automatic because they are normally chunkier and heavier. Just like the weight on my hands.

If you are into watches and how they work, automatic is the way to go, if you just want the look and don't care so much for the art/mechanics of the watch go with the quartz, you will save a little bit. That's why most women's watches are quartz, one the size (when women used to wear dainty wathces) would not allow the mechanical parts to generate power to make the watch work, second generally women's watches were not collectibles and hence they made them in quartz. These days I think it's a personal choice. My BB is automatic, if I don't wear it for a day it stops, but I love having an automatic watch.

My watch is mechanical movement watch. It moves smoothly around the dials and looks more classical than quartz movement watch.
