Is Toy Loulou being replaced by Mini Loulou?

I saw the same video and I had just ordered what Nordstrom called their Toy Loulou. It arrived today and it does not have an adjustable strap which is frustrating. And you are correct, no interior slit pocket on the divider. I am going to return and see if I can get the older version from Fashionphile.

My understanding from my YSL sales associate is that both versions are called “toy” lou lou. The newer version (non-adjustable removable strap, no wristlet, and no slip pocket in middle divider) it replacing the old. The new version started hitting stores a few months ago. There are still some older toy lou lou’s out there if people prefer that one, but YSL no longer makes that version. Hope this helps! And Happy Thanksgiving to those in the states! I can’t confirm that they are replacing the toy, but the bags are too similar to keep both versions around. I own the toy and checked out the mini loulou the other day. I watched the same video and disagree with the youtuber about the mini loulou being able to fit more due to the lack of the slim divider pocket. They are basically the same bag. The only difference is the new strap that is not adjustable. I don’t think it’s a big deal as I use a chain strap anyway. I love the fact that the strap is detachable as there are many aftermarket options out there.

I had a the polene numero un bag and I use the chain that comes with that, but I’ve read that coach sells a “dinky chain” that works also.

Does anyone know if the mini loulou is slightly bigger than the toy? I found a toy on farfetch and it says it is 18 cm wide and another one on farfetch which seems to be the mini according to the photo is supposed to be 20 cm wide. On the YSL website it says the toy/mini is 20 cm wide. In the video quoted above it says they are the same size. I originally wanted to get the toy (because of the adjustable strap) but if the mini is really 2 cm wider I'd go for that one since I would be able to fit my wallet in there then.
Edit: I also found the adjustable strap version on the YSL website and there it also says 20 cm wide. So am I just to assume that the farfetch measurements are wrong? I'd be extremely grateful if anyone who knows or maybe even has the toy could tell me its measurements.

I posted a pic to your question on the Loulou Lovers thread. My guess is a discrepancy on exactly what they are measuring. The base piece of leather is 18 cm but it’s like 20 cm when you include the added puffiness of the sides. I can’t speak for the “new” version as I haven’t seen one in real life but sounds like they’re the same size.

This is my understanding too. YSL has just modified the toy’s design to make it cheaper to produce. Glad I got one of the original ones! I use the middle slot for all my cards!

I measured mine (the new model) and the base, not including the puffiness is about 18cm and 3mm. So practically the same from what one of the others has said about it being 18cm with the older one.
