Is this price just offensive?

I really want this ring. But it is $1500. And made of sterling silver and enamel. It sticks in my craw that I am paying for the name. Either help me get over this sudden attack of 'omg! what a markup!' or convince me my righteous indignance is the correct response here and that I should, on principle, go without the ring (wahh).

(c'mon, seriously, HOW CUTE IS THAT?!)

IMHO, I would not get that ring. It is a ring that will only be in fashion for a short period of time, and then you will have spent $1500 on a ring that you will never wear. Also, there is no resale value to the piece. So, you would be investing in an item that costs a lot of money, and you cannot even get a quarter of its value out of it. Next, the enamel may chip over time, leaving you with a pair of lips with chips. Finally, it looks like an inexpensive piece of jewelry. IMHO, if I am spending $1500, I want it to look like it costs me at least that much.

$1500 FOR ENAMEL AND SILVER?!!! HELL to the NO. Sorry, that isn't cute enough for that much money. Hell I would probably not exceed $15.00 for that.

Yep! It is seriously cute!

I don't find the price of anything to be offensive. Rediculous?? Maybe, but where else would you find it?

Re-sale value NEVER enters my mind when I'm purchasing jewellery- whether it's costume or diamonds, or other. When I make a purchase, my plan is to wear the piece....not think of what it's going to fetch me a year or two from now. If I adopted that mentality while purchasing things, my dresser would be empty!

My philosophy is that if you have to "think" about it, then it probably isn't meant to be yours. When I see something I love, that I truly cannot live without, regardless of whether I need it, I purchase it immediately. Don't confuse this with an impulse purchase.....it's thought out, only quickly.....& meant to be mine.
