Is this normal??

Really? Do you honestly think this is appropriate? Calling out a new Coach customer for wanting to save $100? I'm glad $100 means nothing to you. Heck, I'm envious; I wish $100 didn't mean anything to me, either. But the fact is, SA's recommend buying new bags and returning them with the old receipt if they aren't allowed to do price adjustments. That isn't a sign of buyer's remorse; it's a sign of someone with 2 brain cells to rub together that needs to worry about $100.
She has every right to be concerned that her bag has that much corner wear after a month. Heck, I've gotten much less (ie, none) corner wear on MFF bags in a month.
OP, do what you need to do.

Yes I do think my post is appropriate or I would not have posted it. :smile1: My post was not rude and simply pointed out that the poster has posted numerous posts about returning her bag. To me that defines buyers remorse, which by the way is not an insulting term. :smile1:

Feel free to mute me if you do not feel my posts are appropriate.

My bag is exactly one month old. As I've stated somewhere else, I've been babying it - it's my first designer bag so this baby has been living in a special cupboard at work (rather than the floor like my old bag).

Earlier this week I noticed two of the corners are white. I was told when I bought the bag that there's something under the first layer that has the same color so if I did manage to scuff/scratch it wouldn't be as noticeable.

Should it look like this a month in? If I take it in to be inspected, what will happen (is it worth it? It's very much out of the way now and with Christmas coming up I don't have a ton a free time)?

Sorry, the pictures aren't great.

Are you carrying your bag everyday? I rotate most of my bags so it is hard to define "normal" here.

That being said, I would take this to a FP store and look into getting a replacement. As the other posters suggested, conditioning does help. This is not acceptable to me for a $300 bag. I would be ballistic.

It is disappointing to see this lack of quality.

OP, try taking to the store where you purchased it with the receipt if you still have it. I don't think it is normal, so maybe once a SA sees how long you have had the bag they will switch it out for you. That is a shame, I just ordered the saddle color of this bag with my PCE so hopefully it is not a problem with all Edies. I checked this bag out in stores and even the floor models didn't have any corner wear.

On another note, I am planning on repurchasing/returning things I bought in the past month with this PCE also.

I would take it back to the store ASAP and ask them about it. Coach is known for their policy of trying to make/keep their customers happy, and I wouldn't be surprised if they switched it out for you. They have been very accommodating to me the few times I have had a problem with a bag.
Also, the corner wear on the duffles was a recognized problem, so they may/should know about this too.

Thanks for the responses. I won't be able to get to a Coach store for another couple of weeks (it's an hour or so round trip from home or work and I've opted to not bother doing the PCE thing). I noticed this morning while moisturizing again that all 4 corners now have some wear.

Since you can't make the trip for awhile I would suggest calling your fp store and explaining how it looks and email them some pics. If you do that to prove what it looks like now, then you should have no problem taking it in when you have time.

My duffles ( marine, pink scarlet and cobalt) don't have hardly any corner and I have owned each for close to 18 months. The small wear that is there I am able to rub conditioner over it and then you can't notice it all....for a brand new bag, and so pricey I would not be happy to have that much wear after such a small time of use.
If enough ppl have issues ( and report it)with a certain bag or color them they are more likely to realize its a quality rather than a user issue...hence they will be willing to exchange or refund.
Good luck :D

I was told the same thing about the leather by my SA so this person was not wrong in stating that the leather was supposed to be died all the way through. My SA told me that if the new bags are scratched or there is any wear that the leather is now dyed all the way through so that the scratch or wear should not be noticeable. If it were me, and my bag was wearing like that, I would definitely be in the store asking for an exchange. For the money we pay for them they should last longer. I pay that much money for them expecting that they last a very long time. I'm very careful with them and expect that they don't fall apart within 6 months. I also agree with the people about PCE's and sales. If I bought a bag and then it was offered for less money soon after I would buy it on sale and return the new bag with the old receipt. I've also asked for price adjustments when it goes on the factory outlet site and I've recently bought it full price.

Update:

I stopped by a Coach store earlier today. Showed my bag to the ladies there, they immediately expressed concern and replaced it. No questions asked. I didn't even have my receipt with me (I wasn't planning on being near a Coach store, things just worked out) but they pulled my info up on the computer and said they know it's new because it's a new bag.

I was a little apprehensive walking in based on some of the remarks in this thread, but my experience was entirely positive today. I'm very glad I stopped in and I want to thank all of you who have supported me during this endeavor.

I have not asked for a price adjustment - the comments I've received about probably receiving the PCE due to this purchase (putting me at around $800 total for the year) made me rethink asking for an adjustment. Plus with the service I received today, the $100 is well earned by Coach.

Great to hear! I'm glad things worked out for you :smile1:. It never hurts to try! For my experience with Coach, they go both ways-sometimes they're haphazard to the point of being outrageous, but when they get it right, it's amazing. Enjoy your new bag! ;)

OP - super happy it worked out for you! :smile1:

OMG, that is the most true statement. Sometimes they are amazing and other times, I think my love affair is over.

Good for you! I'm glad it worked out. You should never feel apprehensive about asking. IMO your question about the price adjustment and the issue with the corner wear are two separate incidents and I'm glad you got your replacement.
