My bag is exactly one month old. As I've stated somewhere else, I've been babying it - it's my first designer bag so this baby has been living in a special cupboard at work (rather than the floor like my old bag).

Earlier this week I noticed two of the corners are white. I was told when I bought the bag that there's something under the first layer that has the same color so if I did manage to scuff/scratch it wouldn't be as noticeable.

Should it look like this a month in? If I take it in to be inspected, what will happen (is it worth it? It's very much out of the way now and with Christmas coming up I don't have a ton a free time)?

Sorry, the pictures aren't great.

Looks like pretty bad corner wear for how long you have had it. I have several phoebes and they still look brand new over a year later. I've been wondering if the edie would be prone to corner wear (just bought it in vapor black/brass). Did you condition it before use? I would send pictures to coach and if that doesn't work see if they will let you swap it at your local fp store.

Looks like my phoebe in silt just after 6 weeks of wearing. As I live abroad, I had to send pictures of the bag via email and I was told by store manager that this is just normal wear off. The bag has similar spots on the handles. It looks like bad quality leather. My black phoebe looks still perfect after a long winter time last winter. So it can not be just normal wearing off.
I could not believe to get this answer....

i think the new lines have really poor quality leather. I've purchased a few pieces within the last few months, and have experienced lots of wearing away. It is unfortunate when a brand starts cutting corners, and it seems like coach is going down this route.

I'm sorry this happened to you. I think you were misinformed. In the old days, the leather was dyed all the way through but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. You might be able to touch up the corners with some paint. I would use a protective conditioner such as Obenaufs or Blackrocks to protect the bag from more damage.

Corner wear is normal. Coach is not going to refund you money or replace your bag. I am wondering if you simply are having buyers regret with this bag though, since you were going to do a replace and switch last week to get the pce money off on this bag.

I am sorry you are having such buyers regret with this bag, but it will be a waste of your time to try to return it in my opinion. Of course ymmv and you may have luck getting a sympathetic SA to exchange it for you.

I am having a bit of buyer's regret now. In my opinion, a $400 bag should not be having this kind of wear after a month. Hearing that Coach probably won't do anything about it has really soured my opinion of the company.

Any of the bags with "stiffer" leather and sharp corners will wear on the corners if you're not super careful. I've always been hyper aware of the corners specifically on my Legacy duffles and Borough for this reason and have no corner wear at all, but I think if I wasn't so specifically aware of it, I probably would.

I wish I would have known this, and somehow been even more careful (I thought I was!).... Clearly I should have done more reading around before I bought this bag. I love the look of it and the color, but every time I put it away at work there's a white corner is right at eye level. Makes me a little sad every time.

You are probably the only one who notices it. Everyone else who sees you with your bag probably thinks it is beautiful. Focus on what you love about the bag and enjoy it.

I really wanted a fuchsia duffle after they had sold out so I bought one on ebay that had corner wear and a few spots. Normally I keep my bags pristine but I wanted this color so much that I decided to overlook the flaws and enjoy carrying the bag. A few months later, I had the opportunity to buy a brand new fuchsia duffle from Coach so I did, thinking I would sell the ebay one, but when the order came from Coach, I decided I really liked the one I had better, warts and all.

Really? Do you honestly think this is appropriate? Calling out a new Coach customer for wanting to save $100? I'm glad $100 means nothing to you. Heck, I'm envious; I wish $100 didn't mean anything to me, either. But the fact is, SA's recommend buying new bags and returning them with the old receipt if they aren't allowed to do price adjustments. That isn't a sign of buyer's remorse; it's a sign of someone with 2 brain cells to rub together that needs to worry about $100.
She has every right to be concerned that her bag has that much corner wear after a month. Heck, I've gotten much less (ie, none) corner wear on MFF bags in a month.
OP, do what you need to do.

Ditto...I'm thinking of doing the same thing as the OP, and just to put it out there, I love my bag. However, $200 (in my case) is not a small amount of money by any means, and it's sometimes frustrating when Coach says they won't have PCE's, but lo and behold, here we have them again. In my viewpoint, I think the corner wear does look excessive, but I'm sure the fabulous customer service at JAX will tell the OP that it's normal. It's not like she's trying to return a used bag, so I don't understand what's the problem-no policy is violated.
