they said it is special order from someone and the lady gave up on it. if I want it, I need to spent couple thoudsands on clothes or scarf not including bags......I was be offered serveral birkin before from the same sale person. this is the first time she told me this.....the only thing I can think of is this birking is realy rare and hard to get....

I heard this not only once but it sounds a bit weird to me

I have 17 Hermes handbags and 7 of them are Birkins, NEVER have I been told that at any Hermes store. I find that very unusual. I would ask the Manager of the store why this is being requested.

I was told I had to spend money before a Birkin would be entertained at an H store. I don't deal with that store any more, and the boutique I deal with now is awesome. I love my SA's. Every store, and perhaps SA, is different.

I have never been asked to do this and I live in California and have been shopping at Hermes for years. If it ever happened to me, anywhere, I would discuss the conversation with the manager.

This is NOT normal. There are many more lovely H boutiques who will be more than happy to receive your patronage. Please read through the threads and you will be able to find one that will work WITH you and not INTO you.
