Is this elaborate LV scheme possible?

Do you think it would be possible for a Louis Vuitton employee to print receipts from several client profiles for various bags and then go buy those replica bags online and sell them as authentic with a receipt. If you question it, they have the client info showing a purchase for that bag, which would come up as indeed purchased in LV's system..... Does this sound far fetched or totally possible?

I saw your post in the authentication forum. I’m guessing anything is possible. With the issues you mentioned in the other forum maybe you can try to work with the seller to return it. @fabuleux might have insight.

I'm just hoping someone can give me any clues to the authenticity. So far no responses and I have also paid a 'professional authenticator company' to review it and they have not responded to my request yet either. Kinda frustrating. :(

Does the company you contacted say how many business days it may take to respond? They may only operate from say, 9 to 5 Eastern time and might not work on weekends. So if you submitted the request yesterday, they maybe didn't get to it yet. Granted I have no idea. I'm sure someone will get to you when they can, either here or through the company you used.

As for your original question, as already said above I'm sure anything is possible, but that doesn't mean it's likely.

Ridiculous scenario, because receipts are the easiest part to fake. They contribute basically nothing to a fakes selling scheme. I don't know what you mean by "If you question it"--authentication depends on the bag being authentic, not knowing who bought it originally.

Not to mention a highly risky way to make a very small amount of money, since that sort of deception would have to take place on a very small scale or else risk being found out.

Not to mention that doing so is basically unknown to exist among LV employees.

Sounds farfetched. I'd think they could trace it fairly easily (like SAs printing abnormal amounts of receipts) and LV would take strong legal action. Receipts are more easily counterfeited than bags and don't face the same level of scrutiny. Given all of this, it seems doubtful someone who would go to the lengths of becoming an SA and doing this given the repercussions.

That said, there are cases of people making purchases and selling counterfeits with those receipts or then returning a counterfeit.

While possible, it’s unlikely.

I’m never concerned with receipts. It’s the bag that needs to have all of the correct hallmarks.

I know you’re probably a wreck with worry, but be patient and try not to worry.. You bought the bag from eBay and should have a leg to stand on if something was amiss.

I noticed in the authenticity forum. Onece you link the item on tradesy and once the item on eBay. Which one was the original auction? Maybe that’s slowing them down.

This^^ and it was mentioned that one of the experts would look at it...so it may take some time for Addy or Lee to view and post

Edit- experts would look at it once all necessary pics were received

There is no date code on this purse. There is also a seam in the strap. Those are the 2 things that raised my suspicion to begin with. But I went to LV and they said not all purses have a date code and there can be seams with python print. The other thing that bothered me was the interior seemed more flimsy than the one on the show room floor. Like I can pull the lining out of the bag nearly. But LV said not all purses are 'made the same' and this was 'made by an individual person'. I'm just extra paranoid because it was a large purchase. The purse retails for 10k. And I def. don't want to pay several thousand dollars for a fake. The LV manager did not mention that it looked fake but she was also very rude to me and when I mentioned the seam in the purse strap, she told me that this is from wearing the purse. I was shocked at her blatant incompetence. It's clearly a seam where new material was started.

I don't necessarily think the manager was wrong. The seam is probably there on most bags, but it becomes noticeable after being handled with the oils on one's hand. It sounds like with wear, the glue that kept both the seam on the strap looking pristine and that affixed the lining may not be adhering the way it does when it's new. Python is incredibly delicate which impacts how it's made, worn, and the level of care required for it.

I know it's incredibly worrisome to spend that thousands and be worried about it's authenticity, but it may also be worth it to evaluate, do you really want to stress over everything with this bag given its delicate nature?
