I never liked the heart one, but now I do! I have this one, and I wonder if it's out of style. It's similar, but somehow less classic to me. Maybe because I've had it for 7 years or so. What do you think?

I actually prefer this one over my heart toggle, it's simpler and less trendy looking IMO. I think the plainer style is more of a classic than the one I have. Funny how human nature is....we always tend to want what we don't have. I couldn't even sell mine if I wanted because the heart is engraved with initials.

Well you might not get as much, but I bet you could still sell it. I've spent a pretty penny on an antique locket that was engraved before. Id it a block initial or more scrolly? Perhaps you could engrave it more to be less personalized? I don't know..just thinking aloud :smile1:
If mine wasn't the first nice present my husband ever gave me, I would offer to switch.;)

I got my heart tag toggle necklace back in 2003... with my initals engraved... I don't wear the necklace as often, but the heart tag braclet has been on my wrist almost every single day since 2003... the heart is actually really thin due to all the wear, and getting it polished a few times at tiffany's....

These are classic pieces.... go for it!

QUESTION: Does anyone know when the heart toggle necklace first came out? I got mine in 2003 but had it been out already for a while?

i think it is out of style now, but if you like it, then go for it! actually, it's all the better if not every other person you see is wearing it.

I can't seem to shake the feeling that the heart toggle necklace says " I couldn't afford to update my necklace....so I'm still wearing the 'in' necklace of 2003 (or whenever). I don't feel that way about the bracelet though. I wiah I didn't have this perception, but I do.

I don't really think it's in style anymore. I still have the one I bought several years ago (come to think of it, it was probably 2003!) and I'm planning to throw it up on ebay at some point. I'm into Hermes and Cartier jewelry now (although I still love my fully loaded Tiffany charm bracelet, soon I'm going to have like 12 charms on that thing). The necklace is a nice, solid piece but, like JLJRN, I can't help but feel it's become dated. Then again I've been wearing it for several years so I am biased as the novelty wore away a while ago.

If it sings to you then get it!! You should wear pieces that make YOU happy.

While I am sure most people will consider them a classic piece, and they probably are, I seem to see them everywhere and I am just sick of them!

I would suggest spending your money on a nice, original piece of jewelry instead!

Yes, since I have seen so many people wearing the style to the point that I will only wear one piece at a time. But, do I think that it is out of style would be no.

Reese Witherspoon wore one in the movie "Legally Blonde" which came out in 2001. Probably filmed the year before. I think I picked up the bracelet in 1999 and the necklace a couple years later, maybe 2001.

I love 'em and still wear them. Don't care whether they're in fashion.

While I think Tiffany pieces in general are classic, some pieces are more trendy from time to time. I think that the Heart Toggle is one of those pieces. I think that it just became so popular that people grew tired of seeing it, myself included. I have a gorgeous Tiffany 1837 Silver Cuff necklace that was popular in the early 2000s, but I would never wear it now because even though it's beautiful, it's just a bit dated.

i see jewellery as something that should last ofr yrs and yrs and not something to spend $300 on that has a short shelf life. then what od u do w it after? to me if i still like it and it is still in good condition i will keep wearing it

Personally I'd feel a little "old" to be wearing them because they were so hot and trendy among high schoolers and college kids a few years ago, but I also think that if the trend is "over" for while and you're not seeing them as much when you're out, then you can wear them and feel confident that it's part of your style and not part of a trend. I definately wouldn't wear the two togethor.
