Is it redundant to have 3 black classic flaps ? Am I the only crazy one out there

From your collection, I would let go of M/L black caviar with GHW if I needed to. I am a black bag lover too and half of my collection is black. I just don’t have duplicates in terms of size but have big and small versions of the same style, leather, hardware and they serve different purposes for me.

If you really want to get rid of one, I would choose the medium with ghw since its fading. I would keep all of them though because the prices are too crazy now to repurchase.

All but one of my Chanel bags are black. I personally wouldn’t sell my classic flaps if I lose money.

Do you mind sharing how old your m/l with ghw is? Just curious if the hardware rubbing off is something I should worry about too.

Black Chanels FTW! I have several but no size dups. If there is any that's repetitive its the Medium Flaps. If I was letting go it would be the Medium with GHW because I would keep the small lamb ghw for sure. I've observed over the years on the forums that many people who have same bag just different HW tend to favor one over the other and one gets left out of the mix. BUT it all depends what you use, if you love and use both then rock on.

Not at all crazy! Sometimes we get caught up with what we think we should have in our bag collection, instead of buying what we love the most.
Black classic flaps are… CLASSIC
Having more than one in black gives you options, and they will have better longevity because you have more to rotate through.
BUT personally, I found I never wore my classic flaps. My first three Chanel bags were a black caviar classic WOC with gold hw, a black caviar medium flap with silver hw and a black lamb skin medium flap with gold hw. I have sold all 3 because I realized I much prefer minis. My only remaining classic flap is the iridescent blue in my profile pic. I never wear that one, either. But I am holding on to it because I bought it at 31 Rue Cambon and it has sentimental value.
But when I first took the plunge into Chanel I thought those 3 would be my forever bags. But then I fell down the rabbit hole and started chasing all the beautiful new releases. If money was no object, I would keep them all, but selling bags I never used was the sensible thing to do.
I have 12 Chanel bags now, mostly mini rectangulars, two Boys (small and medium) and two coco handles and the queen bee classic flap from Paris.

which ones do you find yourself grabbing for more? or which ones do you find yourself never reaching for?

My black CF Chanels include: 1990s medium caviar ghw, 2020 medium caviar ghw, 1980s vintage mini lambskin ghw and jumbo caviar shw (I also a caviar coco handle with ghw, but that's not a CF, so I'm not counting it towards my black classics) - so I clearly don't find owning different "versions" of the bag as redundant lol

but I used to also have a vintage small lamb ghw and a medium lamb ghw. I sold both of those because I rarely found myself reaching for the lamb and only the caviars.

For me, I'd say the WOC (but that's only b/c I don't like that style). Or if you really are wanting to get rid of one, maybe one of the mediums with ghw that you use less (even tho lamb and caviar are sooooo different and you mentioned the lamb is your dream bag). I also find shw much more casual than ghw. Do you tend to wear your bags casually? If not, then maybe let go of the shw?

At the same time, you don't want to regret selling and then re-purchasing at a higher price
