Is it ethical to NOT disclose "FS" stamp on a bag?

I agree that if you're uncomfortable with the seller, don't give him/her your money.

I would be more inclined to say that the seller should show via photos all flaws as opposed to knowing what FS means. For example, when I've sold my pre-loved bags on eBay, I'm SUPER careful to show all minor marks and call them out in my description.

I also tell people that if they have ANY doubt to please not bid. I want people to get a great deal and understand completely what they're buying.

But my point is, if the bag has an FS and the seller is aware of it, and knows fully what it means, shouldn't they tell the buyer that Coach doesn't warranty the bag?

FS means Final Sale. You can't return the item and Coach won't repair it.

Here is how I found out. I got a wallet at the outlet, it came with a tiny "o" sign on it. And then I found out one of the part does not sew to the wallet. I brought it back to exchange it. However, mine was the only one they had left. So the outlet manager offered me 50% off. And she told me, the wallet will be no returns and no repair. And then she stamped the FS sign to a very hidden place in the wallet.

The seller should definitely state it is FS item.

^^
FS, definitely YES. I think most are aware of the incredible value of a COACH bag/accessory because the company has such an awesome guarantee, soooo, if this guarantee is no longer available, yes, the buyer should be made fullly aware of it.

usually, final sale items are quite obvious at outlets. they make a big deal about telling you that there are no returns, etc.

BUT, in regards to ebay...not everyone knows as much about coach as we do. it is the buyers responsibility to ask the questions, plain and simple. you don't know the intent of the seller, whether or not they had the intent to deceive you, etc.

Are you sure that the seller knew what you meant when you said FS Stamp. Maybe she thought you meant the bullseye and interpretted it as FS meaning Factory Store Stamp as in Bullseye. As opposed to the letters FS Stamped on the creed meaning Final Sale...

I show a photo of the creed in my listings. That tells it all. If it is a final sale, I do disclose that. I do not explicitly say it is an outlet store purchase, but the bullseye is on the creed.

If it is a full price bag, not an outlet bag, I do put that in my listing.

I've purchased three "AS-IS" final sale items, and not one of them has an FS anywhere. Two items have the bullseye, and one doesn't even have that. I have long wondered how they would know it was a Final Sale as there are NO markings on the bag anywhere. And, on the Large Ergo Tote, it was missing the dogleash clip. Based on the advice from noshoepolish, I called Coach directly about buying a replacement. I stated to the person from Coach that I bought it AS IS from the outlet and it didnt have the dogleash clip and could I purchase the correct hardware from them. She took my address and they are sending it to me free. I was so confused as to their policy after that, I don't know what to say!

For those that have the FS on their bags, where is it marked? I can find it nowhere.

Some Ebay seller/buyers are very scrupulous. I had a Biscotti suede and metallic pocket satchel up for auction way back. They wanted to know, where did I buy it, does it have an FS on the tag, is there a bullet on the serial patch, are there any flaws etc. It happened to be a full price department store purchase.

I have not had the experience of shopping at outlets. But I believe a lot of less than perfect bags from the outlets are sold on Ebay. Whether they are returns, display items, etc., Not everyone has ethics! Ask the seller appropriate questions ask for more pics. At the very least they will say "bid only if you are comfortable."

The 2 Legacy Bags I bought, actually had numbers written inside the bag. They were half price. They both had paper handwritten tags on them saying final sale.

I will check my ergo later today & see what it has on the creed.

Glad to see they are sending the part. If they send the wrong hardware color, call them back. They do mess up (did they ask you the hardware color?)

(Lil black devil dog in avatar had to go out at 415 AM so that is why I am checking TPF...)
