What a fun thread!!! I d say if you decide to do that keep us posted how it goes. The other danger is of course If you keep going every week you will eventually find a ton of other things you love and-cannot live without. You will start buying them and before you know you won’t even remember the original target...

Bahahaha! This is so funny! This is actually a pet peeve of mine hearing people brag about having the best SA, H fairy, etc. I don’t doubt most of them are decent/nice people but this is also their job, so.......
@DanBags I agree with you 100%. No one should have to prove they are worthy enough to buy one of these bags by spending any extra money on things you don't want. I also don't buy the argument of "enjoying the brand". If someone is willing to drop 10K plus on a handbag they're enjoying the brand a heck of lot thank you very much. As for going into the store on a monthly basis that may work at some point but probably not based on the way Hermes does business. Most any other retailer would be quite happy to sell you whatever want and tell you when to come back when the item is in stock. I think the resale market is probably the way to go then you'd at least have a good selection of almost like new bags in some cases to choose from and you would get what you want. Good luck.
The title of the thread is very amusing. Hate to think how much time I have wasted in search of luxury items, antiques, etc. that I did not even need. Sometimes think I should have been rereading War and Peace instead.
I haven't! However, I might try in the future going once on a special occasion. I've seen people with no previous history get the bag because the SA realized it would be an important gift (e.g. graduation present, 70th birthday present, etc.)

Depends on how sceptical the SA is. There are, unfortunately, quite a number of cases of people who convince the SA to sell them a B or K with some story, and then they go online and brag about how they pulled the wool over the SA's eyes.
My friend has done it successfully. I wanted a kelly 25 sellier and in my local store it could take ages so i asked her if she can check out at the store in Orlandl new store open this year. She went in and chatted and got a SA. We sent our wishlist email. Whenever she is in millenial mall, she stopped by and chatted and looked at. Not every week though and emailed from time to time. No purchase histort or quota. We got offered constance 24 blue du nord but we declined coz we wanted a mini. This is after 2 months. After we rejected long time of silence and no words we thought blew our chances. Out of blue we got an email whether we are interested in k25 blue electrique sellier tadelakt. I know leather is not that popular but color is our dream color combination with gold hardware. We picked it up next day. definitely differs from store to store and also how popular is the color leather etc.
