I've never had a problem with mine other than a TSA griping about how they're not strict enough, but no not once have I hada problem, internationally & domestic... The 40, ha! I wish someone would say something to me about carrying a 40. I fly AA domestically probably 5-7 times a month, so I wouldn't say I've just been lucking up. But then again I don't obnoxiously overstuff mine, so possibly it just appears within the allowed proportions :confused1:
 
Isn't 50 cm only about 20"? So it should be well within the limits. I carry my Victoria 50 as hand luggage all the time and have never been told it's too large, either in Business class or economy.
