I know; this is so funny! We should make a time capsule.

There is a group of tiny little boys (maybe age 5) riding their bikes down our street everyday. They have this war cry scream as they ride by, and it sounds like they're being killed, but now we know it's them. One of my children asked how those little boys can be out all day and after dark, all alone, screaming in the streets, every day. We told them that was how it used to be in the olden days. You only came home when you got hungry or tired. There weren't cell phones; so no one could check on you either. Lol!

My younger dd's fiance locks his car, every single time he comes here, we joke one of ducks is gonna take it for a joy ride.

Well it was nice while it lasted...New Zealand now has confirmed community transfer and we are back in semi lockdown. Auckland goes to Level 3 and the rest of the country to Level 2.
Not that I stopped washing hands or sanitizing the eftpos machines.
Sigh....at least we have an effective government thats kicked in now instead of later.

I read that. I'm Sorry, mind you i am impressed how they reacted so quickly! Biggest debate going on here is BTS. "The plan" is barely a plan so good luck with all that...

Yes...Im in the Level 2 area of NZ...but it just means we will be doing appointments for the salon and social distancing as per usual. Cleaning down the eftpos machines which Ive beem doing and cleaning and sanitizing which I haven't stopped doing anyway.
Level 3 is Auckland so non essential places are closing, schools are closeing...lines at the supermarket again.
Until they know how this grouping came about..there has been no travel in this family. Could be contact with someone working in the managed isolation hotels..could be anything.
We have done well as a country...and as we have only about 800 or so ventilators for the whole of us we have to be good and keep it down.

Glad your working still. We are what is considered phase 3 here where things are limited but aren't if that makes any sense. Stores have caps on entrance, social distancing markers are everywhere, plexiglass around checkouts, things are sanitized after each use(carts included) and masks required.

I am glad to hear you are in an area where things are under control. People in my local area are good about wearing masks etc but the cases/hospitalization/deaths are still going up here and our state is in the top 3 hot spots . It’s infuriating to hear about stuff like the motorcycle rally in SD where 250 k of mostly maskless folks are gathering (indoor concerts/bars too). Yes, definitely can’t wait for things to be more “normal” again.

We still have caps on our gatherings, off hand i can't recall exact figures but... it would be hard being in an area that was out of control. My actual town, mainly had the care homes with cases not much was in the in general population.

We grew zucchini once. If you don't pick them promptly, they become giants! We haven't had luck growing things in our current yard. It's difficult when you have a pet that eats everything in sight. Even when we've attempted to fence off a part of the garden, he manages to plow through. I don't think our soil is very good, which doesn't make sense really since they grow so much in this area.

I get that. That stupid wether kept eating the onions, the broccoli( i mean SERIOUSLY) then went for the apple trees. Sigh. I have the garden in the area that used to belong to the sheep, so that soil is rather rich lol. It's literately sheep manure and composted hay, such a soft, nice soil.

Oh yes, I remember those freakishly  giant zucchini at my parents yard years ago. I wish we can grow stuff in our yard now but those @#$#@ squirrels eat and ruin everything .

Funny you mention those. we barely have any, i mean like 1? a few wee red ones but overall? nope. I don't get it... maybe stuff eats them over on this side of the town.:wtf:

They don't do round bales around here, only rectangles. I wonder why it is different in different areas.

Interesting. They do all kinds here, small squares, massive squares(the huge, over 800lbs kinds) and round bales. Storage may play a role, squares are much easier to handle and you don't need a tractor to move them... whereas a round require a fork on a tractor... it's labor intensive but we strip the round bale and hand haul to the animals, squares are WAY easier but cost to much with the animals requiring hay here.

Bailing equipment could make a difference too, you need a round baler vs the square balers... i know we have some cattle farms here who do both...
