The only reason I cook for Thanksgiving is because DH loves it. It is a lot of work. I've reduced the number of things I make to just turkey, dressing, gravy and yams. I can't imagine what we would do if I didn't cook. It would be a nightmare going out to a restaurant and precooked meals make me cringe.

My oldest DD's husband's family is big on getting together for holidays so I guess she'll be part of a big celebration.

I'm sure the tradition is dying. This year we didn't even have to wait in line to pay for our turkey on Monday. I remember Thanksgivings in which I had to wait for hours in the grocery store.
Around where I live people/places already had Christmas decorations up last week. I feel like they’re trying to skip over Thanksgiving.

A Thanksgiving dinner at a hotel sounds really nice . Do you have to dress up for it? Have a great time and let us know how it goes. Years ago when we lived in a different part of the state, we had a Thanksgiving dinner buffet at our favorite Hawaiian restaurant. It was so good. They had traditional turkey stuff etc along with Hawaiian favorites and tons of desserts (which they were famous for). I still think about that meal fondly (maybe partly because I miss living there).
I’m going to a spanish restaurant tomorrow for lunch. Mmmm

Ok....I probably know the answer to this but is it weird I'm making my cats, foster cats, and outside ferals Thanksgiving dinner on Friday?

I cook whole chickens for them weekly but my vet will also be dropping off some kitty friendly sides and treats that a vet tech makes. My kids are super excited about it, so I guess that is all that matters lol.
Not weird at all! :)

They already have had Santa at the mall since Halloween.

That sounds delicious! We were thinking that no restaurants would be open except for those serving Thanksgiving dinners, and those would be extremely crowded.

Our restaurant took reservations, we had to call a few mths prior though. They offer a traditional Thanksgiving meal, but also their regular menu. Honestly their food is so yummy I will probably skip the turkey and opt for something on their menu.

I just bought some jeans from AE - black jeggings. Their sizing has changed. I have 3 pairs of skinny jeans from them, all different sizes! I have bought Aerie underwear in the past but I have tons of underwear now from VS. My favorite bra is Victoria's Secret dream angels demi. It fits me perfectly. I've been wearing those for years. My daughter does too. We're both very busty.

haha! All my jeans come from AE and yes I agree depending on the material of the jean the sizing can be different. They have like 5 different types of jegging material with different amounts of elastin so it’s often hard to pick out a size!

I have a couple of VS bras I like.

Hi all,
I want to join in on the conversation in this thread. I am going to be doing a purge of my purses over the holidays and will be giving away a bunch of nwt coach items. (I have a one in/one out policy and I don't sell on ebay anymore, too much hassle)

I will be giving away the following bags:
1. a nwt bedford hobo in cypress
2. a tattoo dinky (I might have taken the tags off of this but I didn't use it)
3. a nwt bedford hobo in oxblood (again not sure if I left the tag on, but I didn't use the bag)
4. a never used proenza schouler diagonal zip hobo bag in black with a croc embossed print.

Why am I giving these bags away? I have been on tpf for almost 13 years. You ladies have seen me through a move to Michigan, the death of my mother, a divorce, and a rebuilt life. I am deeply grateful for this forum. And I would rather give these purses away to someone who would appreciate them then throw them in the goodwill bin and have some ebay seller fish them out. PM me if you want the purses. I will pay shipping. I will try to dig them out of my closet over Thanksgiving break.

Thanks for being here.

Welcome! And how kind of you!

I do sell my old bags but I also give some away too. Just last night my friend was at her Coach outlet wearing a bag I have given her and she texted me all the SAs we’re talking about it and how she must know her stuff because it was a retail bag! Haha She said it made her feel good. I do enjoy gifting my bags!

As some of you know, I’m the caretaker for my parents. This morning I had to take my dad for his bloodwork. I left my phone (as I was reading our blog) with him while I checked him in. Came back to the waiting room which was in full discussion about our purse ban! My dad had told him how I’m part of this “group that pledges to stop buying purses but we fail and then punish ourselves with pictures of naked ugly men” :giggle: Umm.... no, not quite dad!

Anyways the elderly group decided we should not ban ourselves because life is short and we will all eventually end up in this waiting room discussing stuff like what’s the best adult diaper, best nurses for drawing blood and insurance grips, they said to enjoy our purses and naked ugly men for as long as we can!

Hahaha! This is too funny! Thanks for the encouragement lol

I hope it is delicious. When we've gone out on holidays sometimes the food at normally good restaurants suffers because they are too busy to give each order the attention it needs.

ETA: What do they have on their regular menu? Do they have paella?

Me too. :) I plan on doing a major closet purge of clothes, bags, shoes, over Christmas break. My mother was a pack rat, and in reaction I guess, I hate clutter, even in closets.
