How did I not see this post?

Congrats e!!!! So glad to hear you found a house you love and will be moving soon! That is exciting! Looks like you will be close to some great stores. If nothing else, Target will get all your money. [emoji28] You'll be near LT as well! Looking forward to hear all about packing, purging, and moving! [emoji256]
Thank you! Yes, a Target will be wonderful!

Thank you! It's smaller than what we have now although we will still have a lot of space for DH's tools and workshop. Yard is smaller too. We're not completely downsizing, but it's better.
Sounds like you've made a great decision! I appreciate having a smaller living space and manageable garden space--it is better when we're not overwhelmed with cleaning and maintenance! Nice for your DH to have his space as well! I always feel everyone needs a room of their own, even as adults.

Yay! Good for you!

Congrats on your sale ML! Most of my stuffs are still pretty new too! I love looking at my collection though. [emoji7] It's definitely time for me to just focus on giving my bags more love! Oh and more bag charms! Lol!
Thank you! I wasn't expecting anything to have sold so it's always a treat when it goes! I just dropped things off a few weeks ago, and I'm pleased to clear out a few more items. But I think that's it for now. I'm keeping everything else.

I have lots of beautiful new things so I'm content to just enjoy it all.

I thought about nominating myself to be the next one to crack (just in case), but I'm looking at all my gorgeous new stuff and ...I think not! So I vote for @Syren !

Besides, I just paid for housing and tuition for both kids. :wtf: I need some time to re-group. And I'm feeling rather protective of my wallet until next week when I order my LV wallet for my birthday . (SLGs don't count right? :graucho: )

On another note, I sold a clutch and a small wallet so picked up my consignment money today! :yahoo: I'm throwing that into my new wallet fund.

Edited to add: I dropped off another bag and a cosmetic case at the consignment store as well. Today was a good clear out of Sporting Goods, consignment store, Salvation Army thrift store and the women's shelter.
Congrats on your sales and on dropping off more stuff to sell. And how exciting that it is almost time to order your birthday wallet — definitely something special to look forward to :)

I just put all my 1941 bags in a brand new book shelf. I have most in dust bags but I really wish I could leave them out so I can see them. The whole case is full so there's no room for new bags. Not even a mini one. Nope!

Then I'll need another book case for my other Coach bags that are neither 1941 nor vintage. Then one more for vintage ones only. So we are talking 3 bookshelves full. No mas. Who knew I could love so many bags! View attachment 4292457
I love your idea to put doors on the shelves so you can see your bags! If you want to see them all in the meantime, you can plan some quick feather dusting. I think your set up is going to be a beautiful sight especially when you have all your favorites in view.

Nice job! I’ll take the bright blue (can’t remember color name) Dinky off your hands since it looks like it takes up so much space.

Ideally I would love to have clear acrylic doors on them so I don't ever have to dust. But I have to know what my final number is and how much space they will need before I do that. I still have a lot of vintage bags that I need to go through and narrow down what my must haves are. Then I can go get the doors.

Happy New Year, Ladies! :yahoo: I've loved this thread so much. Your support, kind words, generosity of spirit and gracious humour have made visiting with you a delight and something to look forward to every day. I've loved talking about handbags and everything else in between. :drinks:

I wish good health and happiness to you and yours for this coming year and always. :hbeat:
 Happy New Year!

Speaking of shelves. Here is my handbag shelf, reorganized. I am gifting my light green Rogue so that is off the shelf--I decided I really only need one of this style and I prefer the purple. The only thing not on the shelf is the one I am using today (Green Tattoo Dreamer) and the Berry Dreamer coming from Macy's soon (I hope). So this puts me at 3 mini Prestons, 1 Rogue 25, 4 Dinky bags (2 of them on the far end with tea roses), and 3 Dreamers if the new one works out.

 This is inspiring! You have a beautiful collection!

Please indulge me in a redo. It’s been bothering me that I left out @eleanors36 (a long time ban islander) on my Christmas card (even though I had a disclaimer saying sorry for leaving anyone out). So I made a new card with my Happy New Year wishes. (I may be leaving out someone again but this is the last time I will attempt to do this, lol).

Have a great first week of the year, lovely ban islanders
You are the sweetest!! I love your cards! Thank you! Happy New Year! May this be the best yet for all!

Sooo. I have some big news. Some of you may remember that a couple years ago, I mentioned that DH and I would be moving. Since then, we've looked at more houses than I ever want to see again, but suddenly found one a few days ago. We dashed down to this area (about 30-40 miles south of Atlanta) and made an offer that was accepted today!!! So at long last, we will be moving in the spring. We have some time before then because I really can't do much before May, but we had to grab this house. Really looking forward to getting back to warmer weather, and hey! Some retail! There's a Target about 15 minutes from this house. A Belks and a Dillard's! Good grocery stores! What will I ever do??!!

So excited!
This IS exciting! Congratulations on finding your new home and new hometown. I hope you love it!

When we first moved here, the weather was a little warmer than where we moved from. The first year was great. I was never cold. After that I acclimated and now I get just as cold as I did even though it is usually warmer than 40 during the day, even on our coldest days. Last night we had a low of 33, which is unusual for us. We have to keep an eye on it so our oranges don't freeze. We have more oranges this year.
To pick your own oranges sounds delicious!

Thank you! I wasn't expecting anything to have sold so it's always a treat when it goes! I just dropped things off a few weeks ago, and I'm pleased to clear out a few more items. But I think that's it for now. I'm keeping everything else.

Congratulations on all the clearing out! I went through all the closets last summer, but this year I'm going to put my hands on every little thing and do a real declutter. I'm really excited about this. DH is on board. The kids make their own decisions as long as everything has a home. They got some fun new games to make room for in the game closet so nothing falls on our heads. I'm just doing one shelf or one small area a day to make sure I can keep it up. 2 days in, it's going great! I hope this enthusiasm lasts!

Yes, I am quite excited to finally be getting a wallet! I was looking at the different Clemence wallets today. I love the new epi denim but not the silver hardware. I definitely want gold. Then, I realize I have lots of monogram accessories but only one mini Pochette in DE. Except the DE Clemence interior only comes in cherry or rose ballerina and I don't really like either of them.

So after all that I decided I will go with the monogram and fuchsia interior to match my Rosalie coin purse which is also fuchsia inside. I can't believe I have spent so much time thinking about the pattern and interior colour!

One more handbag note: DD went back to school with my small black Borough! :wtf: I won't say my handbag shelves look empty, but there is a significant gap where that one used to be. DD will be interviewing for jobs coming up for her co-op program so we decided that would be the best business bag for her to use from my collection.

First off, I can’t believe your DD has your beloved small black borough (you and me both love that bag). You are such a nice Mom :). I think it will be the perfect bag to carry to interviews (wow, she is interviewing already, they grow up so fast, don’t they?).

Good wallet choice. I think it is understandable/normal to spend a lot of time deciding on the various aspects of a wallet. I think the wallet is the single most important and most used accessory. I like how you match it with your Rosalie. Well, this is exciting—can’t wait to see your birthday reveal :).

Thank you! It's amazing how once we get started on cleaning and purging you just want to keep the momentum going in every area of the house!

I had a really productive day today with donations and consignment and DH was gathering together the kids' outgrown sports equipment. He's going to do another bunch tomorrow. My consignment ladies are looking for spring clothing, accessories and shoes starting the third week of January so I've already pulled out some clothing.

I brought out all my my SLGs, LV and Coach, to review what I had in case I should consign something. I laid them all out on DD's bed. It was a bit of an eyeful. I'm feeling I have one too many Coach card cases; my two extras are so pretty in Marine and dark pink with their metallic interiors and glittery edging. I love them both. I find them handy for carrying my transit card which I like to keep separate.

Between the small card card cases, my LV Pochette accessoires and mini pochettes (6) and my Coach wristlets in different styles (7) it all seems a bit excessive. But I am using everything, for multiple purposes, so I don't feel any sense of urgency to sell more. At least not right at the moment. I have been adhering most of the time to "one in, one out" for a bit of control over the numbers.

Good luck tomorrow with your Day 3 of the Great Declutter!

oh my gosh, when DD asked me for the Borough yesterday I was so surprised. Secretly, I thought she forgot about it. But as she was getting her things sorted out, she asked to see my black handbags, "that one that starts with a B?" :wtf:

So after trying it on, and my beloved smooth black Sophia and the black prairie bud Nolita, she decided the Borough was perfect for her. And I have to admit, it did look very smart on DD, satchel and shoulder carry. It is such an elegant bag. And that bag was in my winter rotation for work! Ah well, what we parents don't do for our children. I did put a kibosh on borrowing any LV until she can afford it herself (any delay tactic I can think of to protect what I've got left).

I looked at the Sarah and Emilie wallets again. The one I love but I think it's discontinued is the French purse. My mom had that style wallet when I was little and I loved the change purse built into the wallet. I liked the smooth, flat kiss lock you could open. I sometimes see a preloved one but they are in rough shape.

I'm feeling confident about my wallet choice now, so plan to call ahead to see if one can be put aside for me. Either that or buy one online and have it delivered to the store for my inspection and approval. My shopping gal-pal whom I bought my Speedy 30 DA with in June (she bought the Neverfull DA) and I are going to pick it up, have a little shop and dinner together.

I wish you, and all the Ladies on our thread, could come to my Louis Vuitton for a birthday meet-up! That would be really special!
