I see. Thanks for all the info.
My fear is showing up at the post office with one of these labels and it not being enough. I saw it happen to someone a while back. They had a prepaid label, but they were told repeatedly that it wasn't enough. The person ended up having to pay $9 more.
I don't think that would be a problem usually. Most purses weigh between 2 pounds and 5 pounds, even with packing materials around them. A lot of mine are under 3 pounds so I buy the $8 label. If I'm worried that it might weigh more, I buy the $13 label. Nothing ever goes over 10 pounds unless you are selling something heavy like garden tools or a cast iron pan. If you pack it up and realize you specified the wrong label, you can change it then and Mercari will adjust the amount you earn.

If you buy your own postage, besides charging by weight, USPS also sometimes adds a surcharge for oversized boxes, which could be anything over 12 inches on a side. It depends on the overall size. Like the boxes Coach uses to ship purses in are considered oversized. Depending on the zone of the recipient, this surcharge could be huge. I've calculated some boxes that were 3 or 4 pounds, and it would cost $40 to $60 for me to ship them. You can use these Mercari labels even on these oversized boxes and not pay extra.

It's worse for me because I live in California. So some packages have to go all the way to the other side of the country. A package to New York, even if it isn't oversized, is still around $15 for 3 pounds. Mercari labels are best for me.

I usually just estimate the weight when I set up the listing. I have a postal scale that I use when I actually pack it up. A scale doesn't cost much and is worth it if you are going to do a lot of selling.

Well my year is starting off.. great I thought at first. I got a bid on my item on auction. I look at the bidder ID and it has zero feedback. Awesome. I get to open another unpaid case and relist. [emoji20]
Did the auction end yet? Maybe someone else will bid.

My new year started off pretty good. I sold something at 12:25 am. I haven't had any problem sales for a long time, so I'm worried. Eventually someone is going to make trouble.

No. I have to wait 3 more days. In the mean time two more bags listed at lower starting bids so I am not optimistic. Congrats on your sale though.

Regarding my own collection, my 1941 shelf is full and I was saying that my shelf doesn't even room for even a mini bag. I was referring to the mini dreamer. As it turns out I didn't put my mini ace 14 on the shelf. So now I'm thinking.. should I get rid of it? Or re-evaluate the whole collection and pick something else to get rid of? [emoji848]

Think through what you will get rid of. I remember you loving that mini ace. Whichever bag you get rid of, let it be because you really don't want it any more. Not because of space on a particular shelf.

Speaking of shelves. Here is my handbag shelf, reorganized. I am gifting my light green Rogue so that is off the shelf--I decided I really only need one of this style and I prefer the purple. The only thing not on the shelf is the one I am using today (Green Tattoo Dreamer) and the Berry Dreamer coming from Macy's soon (I hope). So this puts me at 3 mini Prestons, 1 Rogue 25, 4 Dinky bags (2 of them on the far end with tea roses), and 3 Dreamers if the new one works out.

Are you sure they won't pay? I ask because I was one of those rare buyers when I started Ebay, and I only buy a few times a year. I have enough excellent feedback from the start so it was never a concern (except probably for the first one or two purchases I made for those sellers). Sometimes I don't buy in a year but I do pay right away when I buy.

The mini Ace is mini...I say keep it without worry! :-)

No I'm not sure. I'm always considerate of that fact for new buyers which is why I never say anything like I won't sell to zero feedback buyers. I will sell to them and give feedback according to my experience. However the last bidder with a zero feedback didn't pay. I will keep you posted if this is another repeat of non payment.

Perfect! I have bags on my top shelf like that. I have a big gap between shelf and ceiling (have higher ceilings) so need to stack in some way maybe using some kind of stackable shelf in order to utilize space better.
