I got my Clarkson Hobo in Cadet! I love the shape, color, hardware but maybe I’m just spoiled with 1941 bags but this leather feels like plastic! I’ve felt MFF bags with nicer leather. Has anyone fondled one of these in store? I’m wondering if I got a dud or if this is just the regular line leather quality now. I don’t think it will slouch nicely when it just seems so stiff that it wants to crease instead of bend.
I may see if JAX can exchange for me. But anyways! I know some were interested in this style so here are some pics. I like that it has feet! The first pic is most color accurate in regular lighting. My led lamp is really pulling out the blue, maybe in sunlight it will look more this blue. I hope so as it looks gorgeous when the blue comes out with the gold [emoji7]

This looks so beautiful—that blue with that gold hardware look amazing together. It looks really functional with all the pockets inside and outside. But what a bummer that the leather feels plasticky. I’ll be curious if yours is a dud or if the leather on this style is like that. Really pretty looking though.

I have looked at the Macys and feel the same way about all the Coach line they have in the store. There aren't any I would want because of the leather feel.It's a gorgeous color!! There were Clarksons at Macy's a month or so ago on display and they all felt plasticky to me
It's pretty. What a shame about the leather. It looks plasticky in the pictures. I doubt exchanging it will yield different results. I'm sure that is the way they are supposed to be.
I’ve compared the Clarkson leather to some of my other older non 1941 bags and the leather just doesn’t compare. I have an orange spice Madison tote and the pebbled leather is DIVINE! I’d say it’s even better than some of my 1941 leather, although this bag definitely has a patina and is very broken in. The smoosh on that bag is incredible.
I’m sad but I think the Clarkson will be going back. I don’t feel so guilty for splurging on my latest sunflower rogue now. Looks like my bag plan for 2019 will be to snag another older rogue that will have the clochette that is missing from the new styles.

Madison leather was wonderful. Coach leather quality started declining around 2013 and some factory stuff is still bad. I guess some of the lower priced FP stuff also uses this cheap leather.
It really was great and I had no idea at the time [emoji23] I’ve been considering listing a different Madison tote for sale but I’m second guessing that decision as it has the same leather as my orange spice bag. I may hang onto it for a bit longer.
This will definitely affect my purchasing in the future. I was drawn back into Coach due to the 1941 designs and quality so I may just be sticking to these bags.
I still love my squishy soft boutique phoebe's, in fact I used my cranberry phoebe to squeeze the heck out of when I was in labor with my 2nd!! L&D was full and they were trying to get a room ready for me so there I was sitting all alone (DH was on his way) with only my phoebe for emotional support
