Got an email from Tradesy, and I swear it was going to say that they were closing but no it was just an email to tell me how great they are...really? Great would be lower fees

I was kinda thinking along those lines. Like the CEO said they are empowering women — more like ripping off regular women like me with their 20% commissions

Ack! i love all of this, the bag.. the charms... I need to get myself one of those charms... not sure how i go about it in this country though?
HS, there are Laudaree stores here in Canada. Not sure exactly where you are located but they have shops in Vancouver and Toronto. Not sure about the other major cities.

Ideally, we'd go to Paris and get one...or several.

So I was reading in the LV subforum where someone has 3 bags (total I believe) and will be adding a 4th soon. One is a tote, another is full size satchel and the third is a smaller crossbody. She has been using each bag for like at least 1 year straight/continuously. She is around 21 (so maybe haven’t had the time to collect/add bags). Do you think you can do something like that where you have a small capsule collection ( not necessarily 3 bags) and use each bag to death so to speak? It got me thinking about how many bags do I need? It may be more of a question of want vs need. Guess I am always pondering this issue in my head.

I think about this kind of thing all the time as well. When I use my LV bags I'm super content. I think I don't want anything else and I'll put myself on a LV schedule of purchase eg., one bag a year. But then I go into Coach and they have so many adorable new products. And next thing you know I'm picking one, two, three items. Ack! How many bags and accessories do I really need? Far less than what I own. I'm happy carrying Coach, too. I finally stopped carrying my new burgandy Mercer. I went to the Coach boutique today and it was so cheerful with all the KH items and pretty spring colours.

I would love to have a small collection but not sure I can do it. I think I'm tied emotionally to some of my bags so cannot give them up eg. Coach Sophia's which I don't carry quite as often but I love having them to use when the opportunity arises. So my next strategy would be to limit spending and acquiring. Very, very difficult with the amazing things coming out from Coach and LV.

Believe it or not, I used to be one bag person like 20 years ago. I didn't know my "purse-onality" [emoji23] and had a small plain black zipperred hobo with no logo or any sort of embellishments. I think it was from Wilson leather and I would forget that damn bag every where I went! Lol! I can't tell how many times I left that thing at a restaurant and just drove away. Then I'd panic and call the restaurant about my bag! I eventually learned that I needed to wear a bag crossbody for me not to forget it. [emoji23][emoji23]

Thanks for your reply ML. I am glad I am not the only one who feel this way. I also have bags that I am tied to or can’t part with (because I won’t be able to find/buy again like my Dakotah or Legacy Duffles) — with those bags, it seems like it is best to keep/wear them until they are too old/worn. I agree with you on limiting spending/buying new items — I bellieve that is the key. But I think sometimes we get bored and just want something new (perhaps as a treat or pick me up).

That is too funny that you used to forget about your bag. Guess you no longer do that? Lol. I don’t think I was ever a one bag person but I never had multiples or as many bags as I do now.

Hehehe! No! I had to start a new habit of checking my surroundings before I leave to see if I were leaving anything behind! I still do this now just in case.

I used to be a two bag person (one black, one white) well into my thirties. Then DH started giving me nice purses as gifts (he wanted to give me something nice, and I figured it could be a purse....) I don't think I could narrow myself down to only 4. However, DH's job comes with a possibility of spending 3-6 months in another country. This idea excites me more than it does him. Anyway, in such a situation I figure I could only take like three bags with me. I wonder, which 3 would those be...

That’s sweet that your DH gives you pretty purses as gifts (I much prefer that to Amazon gift cards, lol). So if I may ask, will your family be living in another country for 3-6 months a year soon? There is no way I can have only 3-4 bags at this point.

Well, it actually became a way for him to give me gifts I love. He tells me how much he wants to spend and I find something in that range. I usually show it to him -and he does have veto power. [emoji56] [emoji12] (he hasn't vetoed any I'm sure about yet.)

DH has managed to steer clear of the possibility of that assignment for years. They usually start with volunteers and single guys. Plus the initial assignment is usually 3 months or less. So, no reason to uproot a family for that. He says he will avoid it at all costs because most assignments get extended.
