My 15 years old mutt isn't looking good. She is part German Shepherd and I think her hip is finally giving up on her in her old age. She is falling to the left trying to walk. She is completely blind and deaf too. I don't think she will be with us very long. [emoji22]

ah, I am sorry to hear that. My German Shepherd passed away at 12yrs. It's not easy when they 'get up there' ..Has she had a stroke?

I still feel sad and she was the 2nd cat that I lost for the same reason. But my parents house was the corner house of an intersection. Pets were never safe unless they were indoors only. I never got another cat after that.
Yeah it's hard, my barn cat disappeared one day.. i was so sad, and the kitten he had a companion only made it to 1yo before he got hit on the road and I am rural and far enough from the road, i've never replaced them i can't stomach the loss.

[emoji26] it’s so hard when pets are getting along in age. My mom’s 20 year old passed away the night she came home from her trip to Hawaii last year. My mom was just devastated. She felt as though Frosty had waited for her to come home and see her one last time before she passed.
20?! wow.. dog/cat? we had one cat make it to 19.

I'd be devastated too. Yup I'm crying already reading this. Frosty wanted to say goodbye before leaving. Pets are the first kids we have before we have actual kids. I am going to have a terrible time when I lose her. She is my first dog I got when I moved in 2003. Then we adopted another mutt 2 yrs younger than her in 2006 from our SIL. And he is part of my autistic son's bed time routine. He has to have him on his bed by his feet. But my son does not want my girl dog in his room at all! DH and I are both scared every day to wake up and find one of the dogs dead.
Yep, my GS was our first 'baby' too, it was horrible.. she was dead in front of our bedroom door with the Chihuahua beside her, it was my last kids first ever day of school.... this is clearly burnt into my brain lol.

Took me eons to buy another big dog, but it's not the same... and i wouldn't buy another GS again... i can't. Never had a close tie to a dog again after her leaving...

That'll be hard with your son... i'm sorry.

That's so sad. My golden retriever lived to be 14. It was rough at the end. He had arthritis and barked a lot at night, possibly because he was in pain. That was years ago and I still cry when I think about him. He had a good life.

14yrs is a solid life for sure.. sadly the big guys leave so soon, my mum had a friend totally into great Danes they average like 7? i couldn't handle that..

Thanks ladies. Sorry for the sad posts.

Hey look at my new bedding I bought the other day. I needed something colorful and fresh looking in my bedroom. Isn't this a cute print? View attachment 3853961

That is a super fun print! and i don't mind the sad posts, i mean it's life right? that's what is great about this thread, the good the bad and the ugly(thanks LT for the guys...)

This is my bedding set courtesy of a BB&B stock photo. As you can see, I am wrapped in the cozy fur of luxury. You should all be so lucky. :sleepy:

My weather was stupid last night, super high winds(like to warning levels) huge temp drop and rain... hydro kept going on/off...

Soooo what happens exactly what i thought one of the jerks who has been targeting my farm hits... all of a sudden dogs are going insane, my son is screaming something is attacking the ducks...

So open door and guess what i had dozens of ducks in my front hall within seconds.. no folks NOT kidding the birds were panicked and it's pitch dark( i leave lights on the backyard field to lessen issues... ) ugh

After getting everyone out of the hall, can i mention this is almost 1AM?!:whut: did a walk about with a flashlight ALL was fine gather the dogs scared "it" off...

Ram was fine too. I now lock my horses and ewe's up at night... my remaining ram won't lock up.. he's a bit well rammy and would take the building down...

What a bloody night... see adventures on the farm. yeah, more like how to lose ones sanity step #1.:panic:
