When you measure your own foot, do you go by the actual sole of your foot that touches the ground, or do you measure to the back of your heel where it would actually touch the shoe? There can be a big difference in those two measurements.

Hello ladies! What an incredibly helpful thread.
However, as I am trying to buy my first CL's I am really confused about the size. I am a TTS 37 European and after all I have read in this forum I was under the impression that CL's usually run bigger that TTS. So, I was thinking of buying a beautiful pair of Tulip Thong Sandal Shoe size 37.5. The seller informed me that the insole measurements for these shoes are 9.75" (24.5cm) and when I measured my feet I was 23cm (9.1'' inches)...you can see my dilemma here..any suggestions??

Thank you ladies for all your posts that helped me determine the proper CL size when I found a pair of Declic 120's on *bay and was smitten with them at first sight!

As a result, I have added the insole measurement for Size 41 Declic 120's to the insole spreadsheet: 10.5" from the tip toe to the end of the insole on the heel.
Other than being just a tad too tight on my left big toe, the Declic 41 fits me perfectly.

In an effort to help others with the larger sized CLs, My feet measure 10.25".
95% of the time, I wear a US Size 10 (occasionally a 9.5) and a 41 in Manolo Blahnik.

Should i get a pair that is close or the same as my insole measurement (9 3/4)? I don't want my foot to slide out or be too tight (although I have narrow feet). I am looking @ the Simple 70 (old sz) pls help!
