I mean, you're free to chime in ideas to VCA about their innovation in the guilloche design & the creation process so they can eventually obtain IP protection for the guilloche and the Alhambra collection. As of now, it hasn't been successful for them. I'm just sharing what local jewelers & manufacturers are capable of producing nowadays & their limitations when it comes to luxury jewelry pieces.
There's no need to obtain IP protection and the real deal speaks for itself.

You know what, even any kind of IP protection or whatever is here, does it mean that it can stop fake producers from making fakes?

Just let those people keep being delusional and be happy with their fakes.

I mean the lab grown diamonds are encouraging the 'fake it' mentality.

If there's no need to obtain IP protection then VCA wouldn't have attempted it in the first place. Of course their pieces speak for themselves in terms of craftmanship & quality for people who love & enjoy the brand, but realistically speaking, they're not inventing groundbreaking designs or utilizing one of a kind technology to craft their pieces either. Their competitive advantages are in their raw materials and trained artisans that contributed their beautiful creations.

My point isn't to encourage people to purchase replica and live in the 'fake it' mentality or devalue authentic VCA pieces. I own some guilloche pieces & knowing that some jewelers out there are capable of making replica that look identical to the pieces I own doesn't make me enjoy them any less. Lab grown diamonds aren't my thing but it also doesn't bother me when people prefer it over natural diamonds either. Who am I to tell them what to do with their money?

The vca designs might not be groundbreaking but machines are. Even though I realised how authentic vca pieces are made, I still enjoy wearing them.

That's all I am willing to reveal.

I don’t believe her, there is no way that bracelet slipped through authentication when it’s evidently fake… She should just own having a fake, people would love her for it because it’s genuine

Also, she could just have said she received it as inheritance from some grandma or something.

I have received so much jewelry from my mom, my grandma, my mother in law, from family as a child.

She’s from Turkey, one of her grandmas could have had it made and she inherited it… you know, whatever! This isn’t rocket science.
If the goal is to protect her ability to do collabs and sponsorships in the future with big jewelry brands…

People who watch jewelry collections videos tend to know a thing or two about jewelry. It is always dangerous to lie like that…

Meh, my issue with fakes is it fuels social media/society's obsession with curating a false image of wealth. There's nothing shameful about not owning designer jewelry or only having 1 or 2 pieces -- but folks are going to extremes such as buying fakes, lying about it.. or even worse, going into extreme debt or committing crimes (like her fellow influencer friends husband slum lord business tactics) to purchase things to flex on the internet with. It's crazy to me. Influencers are totally responsible for normalizing this. Personally, if spending a certain amount of money on an item makes one feel uncomfortable, I recommend they hold out on buying it (or a fake which btw are often times not cheap per say) until they are comfortable with it. It ain't this deep!

There nothing more mundane than machines. Machines everywhere, robots are about to take over every job out there, from driving cars to performing surgeries… all with the blessings of our soon-to-be AI gods.

I would put my energies in defending actual craftsmanship from the few real jewellers left.

Well, when people out there are willing to spend big fortunes to beautify themselves

Only when people accept imperfections will there be changes and gravitations towards a more human touch in everything surrounding us.

And StyleHard went out of her way to mention the fellow influencer friends husband slum lord in the video, which I thought was telling. Why is she bragging about that? And why is she calling the new VCA pieces quartz counter tops? I hope she gets banned from the boutiques - not that she shops there obvi - I hope Etsy bans her.

I will never understand why brand try and do that all the time, especially when it is crystal clear they did NOT originate the idea or the design. So cringe. The Alhambra has been standing there since the Middle Ages, WTF?

I remember when I was young, YSL tried to come out with a perfume called "Champagne". The actual Champagne people from the region came out and crushed it in court. It got withdrawn and reissued as "Yvresse". LOL!

Another time, this girl was arguing that people were copying Chanel's espadrilles everywhere and that Chanel had "rights" over the espadrille. She could simple not accept that espadrilles were nothing but a traditional pyrenees type of slippers and none can claim IP over it. Just like wicker baskets...

Crazy how brand marketing can eat people's brains...

I agree and she’s honest about SAs being rude and is like the average consumer instead of being snobby and thinking she’s better than other people. I wish more people would talk about rude SAs, because like her, I went into the store to pick up a bracelet and I overheard SAs talking about how I came in wearing the same bag. I’m not a bag collector, I own 3 designer handbags and that’s enough for me, my clothes are usually non-label and that’s okay.
What’s wrong with wearing the same bag? Even for people with a huge bag collection, sometime we are too lazy to switch bag! Or we just love using a particular bag because it looks good on you and easy to use! If I overheard the SAs talking about me like that I would call them out to see how their faces would look like! 🤬

Literally every brand, it's the game of prestige & dominance. Same thing with Hermes, they continue to struggle with the IP for Birkin, closest they've gotten is winning the NFT's
