Influencers & VCA

She reinforced my reasons for avoiding influencers and their videos - plastic face, fake accent, and exaggerated gestures.

I watch gamers who show teenagers how to play Minecraft or whatever new game is popular these days and those are so likeable and connect with people so much easier (although some swear too much).

If I was researching YouTube to understand VCA, after watching her for 30 seconds, I will turn away from her and the brand … yikes!

Just Google images of Sybilla Mirage and you will see what type of expert she is and how she finances her purchases.
I learned the hard way by requesting her on ig hoping to see photos of her styling her pieces especially the magic 6 necklace. on youtube she styles the jewelry with crewneck t-shirts and on ig she wears a bra.

She’s been contradicting herself a lot lately.

I thought the same when she purchased that WG necklace from Cartier. She said for the longest time that she will always stick with RG and purchasing the YG pave VA necklace was a mistake.

Returns..so far I remember she returned the mini Frivole earrings, blue agate that was more lilac in color, carnelians(?), Cartier items ..I don’t even count. All I know is I made a VCA purchase recently and, no, the SA didn’t take a picture of the item I purchased before I left the store. And this also at SCP. 😂

I’m still waiting for her returns to be examined with a microscope. Lol. That would make an interesting YouTube video.

I was expecting rock crystal or something lol

But they discontinued microfiber cloth?? She's dragging VCA and compares it to a toxic love lol

I was expecting at least a custom zip-necklace with that pre-amble

I must shay, that's a very pretty ring.

Call me crazy but I lowkey think she may be prepping for it, try to pull a Monica 2.0 if she can. Btw, did she just start branding herself as the 'expert/consultant' in designer jewelry since the whole TikTok fiasco?

Yup, in a couple of years she went from consumer "I'm no expert" (first vid of this thread) to a consumer 'expert/consultant' :giggle: . She's on the VCA Alhambra specialist super-fast-track.

I have some professional jewellery and geology qualifications (as do many on tPF) and I grew-up helping my mother who sold antique and vintage jewellery for 40 years, and I'm still learning.

I think those pics landed her a rich man who buys her the VCA (which I don't say in a negative way, good for her)

I don’t think she is with a rich partner. She still lives in an apt. Look at her kitchen in her ‘how to clean jewelry’ video. And the windows. And bedroom.

The background tends to give away if the person has it pretty good like LVloverCC (also on YouTube). Island kitchen, Wolf stove, crown molding, large shutters or large sliding doors, sub zero fridge, ..

I did like her earlier videos when she presented herself as a regular consumer with a decent income. Back then she did say she has a regular job. Nowadays, she comes across as obnoxious - hating on her YouTube counterparts for not presenting themselves properly (makeup, hair) and an expert who charges $250 per hour for her services (seriously, men would pay this to curate their gf’s jewelry - smack them silly!) …. not to mention she would say she returned the item(s) she featured in the previous video(s) like the mini Frivole that were cute on her. She wore those earrings for the duration of the video, and now says she doesn’t return worn items. lol

I do appreciate that she drives from Rodeo Dr to South Coast Plaza to find her perfect piece of jewelry. LA and OC traffic is no joke.

Changing it up a bit.

VCA SA’s (Mother’s Day) lunar new year present to LVloverCC. 13 min in. (Her partnership promos start early in her videos, I just skip through those. Idyl loves influencers.)

Edit: Okay, that 2024 holiday pendant she has on is very distracting. And I love that new Tiffany knot bracelet!
