While we are on the subject of pronunciation…does someone know the correct way to say the brand? I have heard some influencers pronounce it differently. There is one influencer who I like immensely, but because English isn’t her first language, her pronunciation and English grammar can be wrong sometimes. She pronounces the Arpels differently than I have ever heard before. However, I think she may be correct with this one! My French ain’t what she used to be, but the more I think about it, and the more research I do, I think it should sound something like this: Von clèf and areples (sort of like apples, but with an ‘r’ thrown in).

Can a native French speaker and/or someone who frequents a European boutique please confirm?

Hi as French speaking person I am sure the pronunciation of Van Cleef is « fan cleaf (not /ee/ sound but /ɛ/ sound ). For Arpels not sure 🤔 they never pronounce the whole name at the boutique

what services does she offer? interesting how influencers have come up with ways to make money off of this lux craze.
jewelry consulting. I guess if you need advise on selecting your next piece. only info on her website is that you can book in increments of 15 minutes ($75), 30 minutes ($150), and 1 hour ($250).

she better explains her services in her videos.

I can see how someone who is having a hard time choosing a piece can benefit. especially since she is passionate and knowledgable about VCA, it would at least be fun to chat.

Well, that's a new one. 😆

Did we ever get a follow up from her SA drama?

I am almost reluctant to ask a question and give this attention, but has anyone had the opportunity to book a consultation with Sibylla Mirage? with the holiday gift craze, I wonder if anyone found her service useful.
I have watched multiple YT vids about her, and she does NOT influence me to want to pay for her services! She talks to much and has a lot of rants which is pointless/clueless! She has a lot of drama and over exaggerates on something so minuscule! Her reveals/unboxing are not really anything special! She does a small mili second clip reveals and then goes on a rant! Not my cup of tea!

Tbh I hate when influencers attempt to profit off of luxury like this. There's some selling Hermes pre-spend courses, others selling scarf ID (google reverse search is free), and now this. It seems like left and right there's a desire to make money off of luxury fans and I find it annoying.

That being said, at least Sibylla is very knowledge on VCA. She should considering being an authenticator, she'd be good at it and would probably book a lot of clients.

I can’t believe someone would pay for what we do casually in our group all the time. I always say VCA collections take time to build out and planning is half the fun. Why take the joy out of planning and refining one’s collection by asking an influencer of all people.

I totally agree, it’s free with people who’ve been collecting for years! Why pay some-random person when we have such an amazing group here who are so helpful and have experience in owning many pieces!

the over exaggerating is prevalent in her videos and frankly comes off as disingenuous.

I’ve noticed a common theme with a lot of “influencers” making videos and act as if they are contributing some service to the public in doing so, thus requesting not only likes and subscribers, but also $.

maybe I’m just an old lady and haven’t taken to the social media norms, but I thought these channels were for people to express their hobbies/interest/lives. when did it become the responsibility of the public to sustain those things for them? *okay rant over* 😤
