I find it odd that you can name names on YT and not be hit with a cease/desist letter. I watched the video and she said "this is America I am entitled to freedom of speech" and she has the right to freedom of speech... but it is not absolute, there are limitations such as defamation. She is also inciting viewers to leave comments on her video about the SA named. How will VCA corporate or VCA SouthCoast Plaza handle this issue - I am curious to know.
I agree!

with all this drama plus the massive reselling, I would fear being potentially banned (I don’t know if VCA does that).

IMO a bad review on Google or survey would have been MUCH more appropriate than the public Youtube videos? Her rationale was corporate would have seen her review but her video is going to bring much more attention to this SA than a simple review would have
She is trying to get views. That’s the primary reason for all the “drama”. 🥱

I wish we could hear the husband's take on the whole "juste un clou" diamond-tipped bracelet that fell in the lake during surfing...
And how it was casually replaced by a Bulgari diamond-tipped bracelet, you know, for a change. Also wish I could hear the conversation with the insurance company:

"Hey, I went surfing with my fine jewelry and it fell into the lake. Please cover for it without arguing as it is totally normal behaviour. And make sure you hurry, because I have a Bulgari to buy next, you know, to replace it. What? Of course I am going to go surfing with that one as well... Duh!"

And it really rubs me the wrong way that someone who grew up in Canada cannot pronounce Guilloché properly. Isn't French mandatory in school? :annoyed:

Oh, well...
Is it actually guilloché? I have wondered this, because on the VCA website, there is no accent on the e. I wonder if this is why people pronounce it differently? And yes, French is mandatory through the 9th grade and elective after that :).

Thanks! This is in French though…so most people wouldn’t be using this version of the website.

However, it looks like the website has been updated, so the accent is on the ‘e’ now (at least on the Canadian website). This makes me so happy, because now I have confirmation for the pronunciation! I hate mispronouncing words…and when others do, too 🤣.

Thanks for posting!

I can attest that in French it is pronounced /e/ -> so it has an accent on the e (é) ☺️. All SA here pronounce it so, but I myself don’t know how you pronounce it in English 😂

Thank you this is super helpful!

I saw a video where someone mentioned chalcedony with a hard c rather than a ch sound at the beginning? Is that accurate?
Yes! It is a hard c (more like a k). I think it might be due to the fact that chalcedony is a gemstone (aka a rock), and in science/chemistry a lot of words with ch are actually a hard c - this is according to some research and some Reddit snooping hahah.
